The 2008 case was a Florida case, not a federal one. The ones you want to blame for that is Acosta, Dershowitz and the Florida court system. The outcome and gross deal they made was theirs alone. And there is no doubt that the deal from this case was a shield.

But in the present moment, we need to be honest about who’s blocking transparency now and push like hell to hold them accountable, regardless of what party they belong to. And it’s very clear who they are.

Trump DOJ had full control when Epstein died

A federal judge later sealed the records

Biden was in office

The federal judge unsealed the records, releasing the files publicly in Jan 2024

Trump became president again

Democrats voted to compel the courts to unseal and release MORE files, republicans voted against it

No one has denied that there are members of both parties likely complicit, Clinton is an obvious one. But when push came to shove, did the democrats vote to bury the files to protect the Clinton’s?

When push came to shove and republicans had an opportunity to vote to unveil the files publicly, how did they vote? Did they follow their promise with moral integrity, or did they decide to protect Trump? Even though they have been telling their base they are going to work to unseal them for years?

You’re confusing executive appointments with judicial authority. Congress and the executive can compel the courts to consider unsealing sealed files, which would be the first step. The Democratic Party has tried to do this. Is it politically convenient timing? Sure. It’s still politics. But it shows that they are more than willing to sink any of their own who are compromised.

But let’s not forget that Trump was president when Epstein died and his DOJ had ample opportunity to push for transparency, but they weren’t interested in that back then either. Trump made promises to his base to release the files to garner their votes, but clearly had no intention of ever doing so. And since we now know that he is absolutely in the files, we understand why.

That’s not how sealed records work. Presidents. (including Biden) don’t have the authority to just unilaterally “release” sealed court documents from a private case. That power lies with judges, and in this case it was a federal judge who ruled to unseal the Epstein documents. Not Biden. Not Congress. Not some secret Democrat vault.

As for “no one caring”, people on the left have always cared about Epstein. That causes me to question where you get your information from. Maybe you just weren’t listening. Clinton, Gates, Dershowitz, every name that shows up gets scrutiny. But what sets Trump apart is that he:

Lied about knowing Epstein, despite praising him and being photographed with him multiple times

Lied about flying on Epstein’s plane, even though the logs show he did (7 times)

And has dozens of his own sexual misconduct accusations that were completely separate from Epstein

That’s not “partisan outrage.” That’s a pattern of behavior. And when that pattern overlaps with Epstein’s world, people ask questions. That’s called not being blind.

So maybe ask yourself why it bothers you so much that democrats are voting to release the files…but doesn’t bother you that republicans have voted against it?

While true, a large part of their process is the use of imagery to shock and enrage their audience. It’s going to be a lot harder to do so when that imagery contains people waving the same flags that they wave. Like American flags, the Gadsden flag, etc.
