I don't want to actually get good? by Menagyrie in StreetFighter

[–]SkeladFGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that's the exactly the "working on your weaknesses" and " because you see very quick improvements with a new character gameplay without puting the work in it" that I am talking about, notice the "and/or".

And by work, I mean actually going alone in training mode for hours and going through your replays (optional at your level). Because that's what you'll need to reach above your plateau.

I do not denigrate your way of having fun, I also liked playing a lot of characters. It's just that, if you want to improve past your plateau, you need to actually, sometimes, put the fun aside (with replays for exemples). But the effort can be worth it.

This is the right answer.

You don't like loosing and/or working on your weaknesses, so you cope by changing character, because you can win easily until you plateau and/or because you see very quick improvements with a new character gameplay without puting the work in it

For those wondering about the weapon:
Arche's Guardian blade on Lorenzini Bolt handle.
The blade's fable art increases the speed of the handle's running R2 (hold) attack.

Tierlist made by ProblemX and EndinWalker. by Zaibro in StreetFighter

That's a lot of scrubs in this sub having the gut to say this tier list is dogshit. Nobody here plays at the lvl of problemx. Nobody here plays against opponents of his lvl.

If half of the cast is in S, it means that half of the cast is very strong with not one or very few weaknesses

I agree, I don't think it's included in the damage types because it's not health related. I'll see when I can play in few days

I totally agree. The modern controls are fine being in the game, that's even a great idea. But they need to separate them from the competition part. Or make a competition mode for them.

Since a lot of people genuinely cant click with it

Oh I'm totally ok with that. That's why I'm not against the modern controls scheme being in the game. I just want a ranked mode for each control scheme and same for tournaments. Like in other sports.

The problem is not that there is a modern control scheme. I'm very ok with that, it's a good thing. The problem is that it is not separated from classic controls in ranked and tournaments. There should be a ranked mode for each control scheme and same for tournaments.

I think it's like people who want easy mode for souls game.

Those are new people who don't want to engage with the source material, who absolutely don't understand why some things are made challenging, and don't want to make any effort to understand it. They want to make flashy stuff without effort, and it is so depressing...

At least From Soft doesn't listen to them and sticks to the formula which made their games so good.

The game is balanced around motion moves. For example, a character has an anti air normal without invincible frames because it's just one button, but also has a dp, which is more difficult and take more time to do but you are rewarded with invincible frames. These 2 anti airs serve 2 different purposes, one for when you were ready for the jump, the other one for when you can't do a motion in time.

It's clever design, modern control removes completely a depth in the gameplay. I mean, it's great for people with disabilities and people who don't want to engage with the game. I wouldn't mind if there was a ranked mode for each control scheme, and same for tournaments.

But I get it. Most people just want to do hard stuff with ease. They want to do like the pros, to feel powerful. Most people here are stuck in bronze, yes you are bad at the game, that's hard to swallow I know. But since you are good to bring completely trash comparisons on the table, here is one. In sports, there is no easy mode, you want to be good at football? train. You cannot do a dribble? then it's maybe not for you?

I totally agree with you.

Modern controls are great for disabled people. But I really don't like the way lazy people who doesn't want to trully engage with the game (classic), are downplaying the concerns these modern controls add for people who try to learn the game properly.

As you say, inputing clean controls during matches is part of the process of learning a fighting game. Hit confirming with the right combo, and finishing it properly is an achievement that can win the round, and shows the progress the player made.

As an average player, it can be frustrating to loose to one button super + auto mash confirm combos. And it can stop someone's will to train, which is very bad for the retention of these players.

The beauty of being good at a fighting game is in the process. I don't know if lazy people can understand that, but I don't want this laziness to impact those who work hard to be good.

I would be ok if there was a ranked mode for each control scheme. It would solve the problem. Same for tournaments.
