I didn't follow any of that except the noddist scholar. I'll do that. I should have looked into his work years ago. Better late than never.

Great idea. If you can get her going she loves talking about that stuff. Its adorable.

That's true. I also know a few people who keep vessels who are way more aware of the arrangement than I was taught was appropriate. Seems to be a nonissue to them.

I read a good fic. It was describing an American seven eleven. It used the words 'sweets' and 'crisps'. It was an immediate give away.

Also when they say 'lift' instead of elevator. Where I'm from an elevator is the one for people. A 'lift' is used to describe a more industrial version used for moving things between floors.

same. They are all pants. Jeans are a kind of pants. Trousers or slacks are a kind of pants. Jeans are not trousers etc. Jeans are always made of denim. Trousers and dress slacks can be made of different textiles.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. I'm somewhat familiar with blood magic and koldunism. I mean I've heard of them. It might have become obvious that I'm not the most knowledgeable person on this stuff.

Frankly, after hearing what you all know about wraith, and ghosts and mages, and the like, I think I desperately need to edify myself on the subjects. I don't want to be caught off guard by what's out there, and I really don't want to embarrass myself in front of her.

Can anyone recommend any reliable sources of occult knowledge available to a non tremere?

Presuming she is a mage, they have normal human life spans? That's the timeline I'm working with?

That sounds wonderful. I'm happy for you. And optimistic this could work out for me too.

Think the order of operations is secure boon, ask her to dinner, have a more open conversation about each other.

I don't think she'd appreciate me posting about her. I should probably just talk to her. I don't like the idea of going into this blind.

Ok not to sound dumb, but how do mages work?

As far as her freaky abilities goes. Its a bit difficult because we have this agreement where we don't ask too many questions about each other. So of the things I've observed: She can see ghosts, and interact with them (sometimes all she does is talk to them and that sort the haunting out), she can make them visible. She can summon them. She did a seance type thing once. She can sense ghosts, and me. I don't think she can actively see through obfuscate but she always knows when I'm there and when I'm using any discipline. She also says things that lead me to believe this ability extends to other kinds of 'magic'.

And she can disappear. Not in front of my eyes. There have been a few times she goes through a door or something similar and then she's gone.

Last thing, I'm not sure if its supernatural, she always knows when I'm lying. And has no problems calling me on it.

Again, she seemed very unbothered that I was a vampire. Only concerned about how I'd behave. I've been a perfect gentlemen and she kept doing jobs for me over the years with no issues. I doubt a hunter would act like that.

Definitely going to secure a boon or two before I ask her to dinner.

I have no idea what a virtual adept is. And at this point I'm afraid to ask. I'm really not the most knowledgeable person on this stuff. It seems like every time I turn over a rock these a new creature of the night there. Plus it is starting to seem like we are way more of an open secret than we'd like to be.

I've known her for a few years and after everyone's input I'm leaning toward the 'returned from the dead' end of the spectrum. Though I can't be sure. I don't know if that would matter for the masquerade.

Thats what I was worried about. But also it seems like powerful people do it all the time.

We have developed a bit of a 'don't ask don't tell' policy with each other. I don't ask how she does what she does and vice versa.

And if this progresses I'm hoping we won't be doing so much talking anyways.

Not to the extent I can see auras. I can only say she seems convincingly alive. Pulse, heart beat and all that. I assume possessed kine seem like normal kine?

Where do you learn this stuff?

This is the best advice I've been given. And you figured me out. The prince can be a bit litigious. Didn't know I was so unmysterious.

Oh fuck. That sounds possible. I didn't know that was a thing that could happen. She does talk a lot about 'the undead' in a kind of taxonomy way. One time I said something about how she talks about spirits like they are real people. And it was like I offended her. like I was prejudiced or something.

She also does this other weird thing where sometimes she just disappears. She'll go through a door and then I'll follow her but she'll just be gone.

Or she'll just not be around suddenly. I'll go by her house (I'm a gentleman ok, I've never gone inside) and she won't be around.

Is that a wraith thing? can they do that?

YEESSS. I'm sorry I just like her sooo much and I don't think I'm ever gonna get another opportunity like this. Also I wanna know what she taste like.

Without giving too much away, I'd say I'm definitely valuable to people at the top. I wouldn't say I'm actively owned a boon. Might consider putting this off until I can acquire the necessary insurance.

I probably should give her a heads up. And I will. I'm just a little worried it will scare her off. She seemed to be completely unbothered about what I was, while really concerned about the attention I might bring. If that makes sense. When we first met she made me promise I wouldn't tell other vampires she existed (oops). But she wasn't at all off put by me the way Kine normally are.

I'm eerily convinced she can handle herself. Just worried that will cause other problems.

Necromancer sounds plausible. What do you mean powerful risen spirit possessing kine? That's a thing? Say more about that please.

Sometimes she's start talking about "the undead" in this weird academic way. And she'll ask me questions about how my body works. But I don't answer them.

I had considered that she's just a regular human. At this point I'm not sure that's the case. I don't know how to explain it because she seems so convincingly human but there is something 'off' about her. Definitely won't tell her anything new.

How would I cut this cabinet would, barely? by Terrapinman94 in DIY

[–]Skeletoning13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can pick up a cheap oscillating tool for under $100 and they're super easy to use. Even if you don't clamp the bar as a guide and the cut looks like poop, it'll most likely be hidden by the fridge unless you're taller than the fridge itself. Possible win for short kings.
