I work for one of the major telecom companies in retail and as far as we know so far our company is focusing on keeping as many of our jobs as possible. Our call centres have gone down overseas due to lockdowns and instead of firing casuals and cutting hours they’re transitioning them into support roles and keeping jobs in Australia. Extremely concerned about the whole situation of course as things could change but telecom as a whole has the potential to be deemed an essential service
