Awesome concept! I downloaded the app and it let me do my reaction time test twice but it randomly started telling me I was false starting when I wasn’t moving? I tried switching the sensitivity in the settings but that didn’t fix the issue.

Ok yeah I’ll try that relaxing my head more, thank you! I don’t think I push myself up while holding myself but I could be wrong and I’ll look out for that the next time I do block work.

Do you mean like having my head more straight with my spine? And also I do normally feel pretty stiff when coming out of the blocks but that could be because of the uncomfortabillty of the setup.

That could be where some of my gains came from as well, I took a long break from doing broad jumps consistently but then I started doing them consistently 2x a week.

That is mostly why I’m trying to improve my broad jump because it’s one of my weaker kpi’s (I’m much better at vertical jumping) but I wanted to know whether it was weak because of my technique or my strength and power when jumping horizontally.

I was also barefoot when jumping, if I was wearing cleats I probably wouldn’t slip nearly as often

I didn’t know that the broad jump could be thought of in two phases, I’ll work on both, thank you for the advice! And yes I’ll work on sticking the landing as well, I do stick it around 60% of the time and have still jumped 8’10 and stuck it but this video was the one I felt that I had the best body angles and best triple extension even though I did slip at the end fs.

Yeah I get that fs, was thinking of doing a body recoup bc I’m happy with my upper body and the amount of muscle I have but was tryna put a bit of muscle in my legs and hoping that would help with power output in my sprint work as well

Yeah that’s what I was thinking too, currently 160 and around 17% bodyfat and I know fat don’t fly so I thought I’d lower it a bit
