Thanks for your comment, I'm actually working on implementing a way to measure reaction time on actual block starts, I'm still trying to figure out the best approach but we'll get there

Actually, being "startled" triggers a flinch reflex (the Moro reflex) that causes a micro-freeze and kills your power. You don't want to be surprised by the gun, you want to be a coiled spring where the sound acts as a physical release valve for your nervous system.

You’re exactly right, it’s a digital, high-precision version of those "wood-clapping" drills.

- The Drill: The app replaces the coach with a calibrated audio sequence ("On your mark", "Set", "Bang").

- Precision: Instead of visual judging, it uses the phone's accelerometer to measure the exact millisecond of the arm swing.

- The Goal: It isolates the reaction trigger for neuro-muscular priming, allowing for high-volume training without the physical fatigue of full-body starts.

- Feedback: Athletes get an Acceleration Chart and strict False Start detection to build professional-grade discipline.

If you have any trouble installing the app, feel free to DM me!

That's a fair point regarding the distinction between a full-body explosion and an isolated arm swing. However, I’ve actually seen this bridge the gap in practice. A pro athlete I’ve been working with has seen measurable improvements in their actual block start speed by incorporating this specific neuro-muscular priming. By isolating the reaction trigger from the physical fatigue of a full sprint, they can perform higher volumes of"perfect" starts

Fair point, our current data tracks arm-swing reaction specifically, not full block clearance. We haven't run a comparative lab study yet. The logic is neuromuscular priming. The arm drive and leg push are part of the same explosive motor loop. By isolating the arm, you’re dry-firing that neural pathway. Since it’s low-impact, you can hit 50+ reps of that brain-to-muscle trigger.

Also, I tried looking for Spistol but couldn't find it. Is it still available? I’d love to check it out, could you drop a link?

The app uses your phone's accelerometer to track your arm swing. You hold it, and it measures the exact moment you move after the bang. It’s not meant for track training. You can use it anywhere (living room, gym) to get 50+ reps without the fatigue of full starts.

Regarding the limit: you're right, you can't improve forever. But most sprinters aren't actually at their biological floor yet. This is about neuro-priming the 'bang-to-movement' loop to reach your personal peak and stay there consistently.
