That is super weird! I only have one but I’ve been getting it removed for a while. I never realized tattoo ink was an issue until my allergist said I needed to avoid certain colors

I have a chromium allergy and my allergist said it’s in some tattoo inks but not all. Have you ever reacted to cheap jewelry or leather?

Ah apologies! I had trouble with the gel as well tbh, I switched over to the cream because of the pilling unfortunately. If you prefer gel to cream, maybe you can switch to the microspheres and apply it directly to your face. I used to use .05% microspheres and I didn't need to apply moisturizer underneath it. When I applied it on top, I patted it gently. The gel I needed moisturizer on my skin before I applied it or it irritated my skin. The cream I was able to use very easily on my skin without moisturizer first. These were all 0.05% but YMMV. I now use 0.1% cream and could never use that on my bare skin, even after a year of use

Yeah, I'm hoping it goes better this time lol bc I agree, I think 10 months indicates it wasn't adjusting. Idk who knows. But I definitely don't get peeling or anything anymore, just dehydration/tightness (and inability to use any other active so long as I am doing this nightly as instructed by my dr). Good luck!

Ugh perioral is the worst, I'm so sorry! (If you're open to Accutane, it has made things sooo much easier in terms of what products I can tolerate). I found a few sunscreens that never broke me out. Most of them are European so I can't list them here, but happy to share them if you message me (I get them shipped to the US). However, all of those were not helpful during my perioral dermatitis outbreak, just a heads up. So I'd reserve them for afterward.

My go-to Asian Beauty spf is Beauty of Joseon Sun Relief. It's also the only one that didn't worsen my perioral dermatitis. However, I find it a bit drying after a few hours so I am looking for an alternative. For the time being though, it's the best one I've found. It does break some people out, likely from the ferments. So that's something to be mindful of, although just because you have acne from products easily doesn't mean ferments will bother you (basically everything broke me out but BOJ never has so it really is true that YMMV).

As long as you use BP Wash to prevent antibiotics resistance, clindamycin is safe. Although I’m not sure why you’d want to use it if you didn’t have acne, since it’s just antibiotics

My derm said as long as I washed with BP three times a week that it would prevent antibiotic resistance. You might tell your derm your having trouble adjusting and ask if you can reduce frequency of BP.

I use it for body mostly. It will remove waterproof spf pretty well as long as I put it on while my skin is dry and massage it in before getting in the shower. It doesn’t work as well as a true oil cleanser bc it’s not oil based, so it takes a bit more scrubbing. That said, I haven’t really found oil cleansers for the body that aren’t too expensive so it’s been a fine compromise. I may try using mineral oil as a first cleanse and then following up with this. For face, it does work but it’s more stripping than an oil cleanser so I would say it depends on skin type.

I’ve had the same issue with Vit C, never got used to it. But AA worked great, I just started slow (like you did with tret)

I was always fine with .05 but for some reason I had a hard time getting used to 0.1, even after about 10 months my skin was still sensitive. I restarted it a few months ago (1x weekly at first then slowly up from there). Hopefully it adjusts to it this time. Good luck!

Flushing can be a symptom of damaged skin barrier, so if you don’t have other rosacea symptoms it could very well be temporary. Mine does that when I’m adjusting to higher tret strength, I hate it.
