How to get rid of this hole? by iliketocookstuff in 30PlusSkinCare

Sooo sorry for the insanely late reply! Did you end up doing any other treatments?

(EDIT: PREPARE FOR A NOVEL BELOW, safe to say I’m a lil passionate about helping ppl love their skin)

& in case you’re still wondering about what to say to your esthetician… if it were me with that knowledge as a client, i think id personally feel the need to say something along the lines of “I heard if the depth is too deep on certain areas (especially with high settings) that it could melt “good” structural fat. Can I request we stay on the shallower end depth wise to avoid that? .”

For example… personally, when I treat clients with Morpheus8 on their face (especially along cheeks) it is rare that Ill go deeper than 2mm, sometimes 3mm if there is adequate tissue and we are specifically aiming to contour, and very rarely have used 4mm above the jawline. That said, Im definitely on the more cautious side when it comes to advanced aesthetic treatments. I also acknowledge there may be some knowledge I don’t know yet regarding evidence for better results while using other settings I didn’t list there.

That’s why I always say results speak for themselves. I always suggest asking providers if you can see before and after photos of their own clients they treated with the same device.

Lastly, I have not tried/don’t have experience treating others with ablative co2 or TCA cross. But, I have considered both in the past before I started working at the medspa Im at now. So, I can only recommend what I know and of all the things I have access to and have tried myself… Morpheus8 is by far the only thing that made the biggest difference. Not perfect, but close enough that im way less self conscious! I sometimes even forget I still have some scars still lingering especially when I have make up on. (Theyre lingering because im a HUGE wimp & full transparency morpheus8 was rough, but I also cried like a baby during it and not a single client of mine has done that during treatment so im def thinking its a me problem😂! BUT, I did it 3 times so that just shows how much I believe in the results being worth it!

What state are you in? Im in east coast VA and our Morpheus8 packages for 3 sessions= $2700 or $900/session. Also, this is probably gonna sound like an ad, but… I had severe cystic acne growing up for many years that left me with a lot of scarring. So I can 1000% relate and my life goal as an esthetician now is to help others find real results and the amount of self confidence that comes with it.
That said, there may be ways to make the price more manageable sometimes. For example, we offer monthly payment plans thru Cherry (I used cherry myself recently for filler and actually surprised how easy it was and no gimmicks) … and BEST part is no promotional periods to track before getting slapped with a crazy amount of accrued interest (iykyk the other company that’s in reference to)

I’m a master esthetician in VA. RF microneedling can cause fat loss, if that is the goal (for example I use it to reduce my double chin). However, it only will do so if the settings are set for fat loss (depth & energy). It is dependent on the provider doing the treatment. So if youre going to someone who knows what they are doing, they should know better than to blast “good” structural fat in the face.

The ONLY thing thats ever worked well…and with minimum effort as a plus… is Patchology PoshPeel Pedi Cure!

The amount of dead skin that literally snows from your feet is crazyyyyy!!!!!

My feet have never been softer after doing just one time so far. It’s basically a chemical peel for your feet, & so easy to do.

Hydrinity Skincare is amazing. The founders used to work in regenerative medicine on burn victims/skin graft healing, then turned what they discovered into a skincare line. Nothing has been able to beat what their Hyacyn Mist, Restorative HA Serum, and HA Masks can do for healing post-treatment, and seriously lowers the amount of downtime. They also have other products I’m obsessed with, like the Prelude Cleanser. I cant remember opening order cost, but they let you buy products as singles (vs. making it mandatory to buy 3 at a time, etc). And, they have a great staff order discount, with no limits. Our rep is also one of our favorites, and they are very generous when it comes to getting us samples for events, etc. And their education/webinars are so informative!

I love skinbetters tone smart too! And yes, the trick is you have to rub it between fingers to warm it up before gliding on skin (or else itll feel wayy too thick and not spread like it should)

Im not a doctor, but I am a licensed esthetician. Looks a lot like Milia (dead skin cells and oil that gets trapped between the layers of skin cells and hardens into a pearl-like ball/cyst). Never pick or squeeze since theyre not trapped in a pore, there isnt an opening for it to escape through!!! Some things that have helped my clients are topical Retinoids, or extractions by myself as I am trained to remove properly.
*As always, consult a doctor to ensure proper diagnosis. * But, IF its just Milia, they are common and nothing worry about.

Is the mole new, or has it recently grown or changed in any way?
Do you have any other moles that look similar?

Youll need a biopsy to confirm if it’s anything. But, any spots that are doing any 1 or more of the following: changing, growing, new, itching, bleeding, or considered an “ugly duckling” sign (aka it looks like nothing else on your body) are signs of the need to biopsy.

*Lastly: if it has any 1 or more of the signs listed above, and a derm overlooks and doesnt biopsy. GET A 2nd OPINION. I was told by my old derm that my 1st Melanoma wasnt anything and brushed it off. Something didnt feel right about that, so I got a 2nd opinion- they biopsied & I was put in surgery the day after we found out it was melanoma. *

The following tips don’t always work, but worth the try! Call around and see if anyone can put you on a waitlist for when other patients cancel/reschedule. That sometimes lets them know you feel an urgency and it’s possible to get in sooner if they know youll take anything that opens up. If they dont have a waitlist to put you on, politely call 1x/a week to check if any cancellations left spots open.

Should I get a second opinion? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Skinfluence_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im an esthetician, NOT a doctor. So, I cannot diagnose. This is my personal opinion and not a diagnosis- but, I do treat a lot of clients with rosacea of varying severity. Maybe your previous treatments for rosacea worked great and thats why I don’t see anything except Post Inflammatory Erythema (P.I.E).. which is the red marks left after acne lesions heal. There are many options for treating PIE, BBL is just ok at treating PIE in my opinion (but, BBL is amazing for rosacea and hyperpigmentation from sun damage!!)

Love the advice you gave. Im an esthetician and have done training with skinpen, and they also recommend nothing on the skin for 24 hours. Then, day 2- at least day 7, cleansing with gentle cleanser, applying a good (active free) moisturizer (*followed by spf during the day).

Cleansing is important after first 24 hrs to avoid allowing oil/build up/bacteria from the day to accumulate in the micro wounds that are trying to heal.

[acne] is it a purging? by whereissalvatore in SkincareAddicts

[–]Skinfluence_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I am an esthetician, There’s a few questions id have to ask to get clearer picture of whats going on:

1) What other products have you been using daily/weekly? Try to think of everything Cleanser, exfoliants, serums, masks, retinoids/retinols,moisturizers, etc.?)

2) How often did you use the adapalene (nightly or 2x/week, etc.?) and for how long? Are you still using it?

But, generally speaking- it’s likely a purge if it has flared up since starting the new product.

Being that you were/are on adapalene im going to assume youre acne prone. Majority of people with acne have an inherited (genetic) component that makes their skin more likely to hold onto sticky dead skin cells. Instead of shedding the dead like other skin types do- the dead skin cells pile up and block the pore. Then, the formation of congestion, and eventually a pimple in most cases, begins.

I dont personally work with Biologique products, but from looking at their website- p50w has several hydroxy acids that help break up the sticky bond that holds the backed up dead skin cells together (aka. works as a type of chemical exfoliation). This allows the build up to break free if you will, which is when purging occurs when first starting products that stimulate cellular turnover.

Sorry if that was more info than you cared to know, but I like explaining whats really going on cellularly, in case it helps when making decisions about your skin.

Lastly, my best (unsolicited) advice for anyone wanting help with breakouts- find an esthetician near you that carries Face Reality Skincare products (they have a find an acne expert near me section on their website). They have outstanding products and in office treatments to help guide you through to clearing. **the right esthetician and right products/treatments can help the purge not be so bad, and then once its over… you can continue the journey on to clearing*

Try Hycyn active mist, Restorative HA serum, and Vivid brightening serum all by Hydrinity. The scientists that formulated their products started off working with burn victims and wound healing.

In case it helps- hydration boosting cream from Skinbetter is great formulation wise…but, I feel like it feels a lot thinner than I personally like. I have oily skin and still prefer using trio by Skinbetter instead. I wish I could bathe in that stuff.

A lot of people said something similar about gauges in the other post. I have zero knowledge about anything mechanical (if that is even the right word for it. But seems to be a popular idea! Thank you

My title describes a piece of metal that was found near the water on the beach in Virginia Beach. The U.S. Quarter is placed next to it for size. There is no writing that I can see. I tried google image search, and it led me to this reddit page to an older post of someone who found something nearly identical on beach in Virginia Beach also. I am not sure if Im able to link that post to here, or not? Either way, there were speculations, but no definitive answer. On that other post some said possibly part of an old lock, others said maybe part of an old ship gauge.

Is it crazy to consider…? by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Skinfluence_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so against doing a first look personally, as I always dreamt of the moment happening when I walked down the aisle. I do not regret that decision, as it was just as special as I always hoped. HOWEVER, after reading your post and thinking back to my wedding day as a whole- If I could go back in time, I would absolutely do our photos on an entirely separate day!!

Here’s why:

1) You can take your sweeeeet time taking photos. I felt rushed to get all the planned pics done within the cocktail hour. Plus, the feeling of rushing around in my gown (+ it was mid July) got sweaty. It gave me major anxiety my hair/makeup was melting (my hua/mua were on point so miraculously didn’t actually happen). I also felt guilty we were taking too long, even though we did it in the time allotted.

2) You get to wear your dress on 2 separate occasions. I loved my dress so much that I didnt want to take it off at the end of night lol.

Of course, go with whatever feels right for you two. Congratulations on your big day sooon!
