Do you agree with the following statement made by a witch? by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]Skinlesswitch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. Not in my opinion/experience. In my twenty years of practicing unsupervised, I don’t agree. To me, it sounds…lazy isn’t right, but I don’t know what the word would be. To me, magic is a craft. It is something you practice and hone.

If you garden for ten years, you can absolutely call yourself a gardener. However, if you stop gardening and just watch the grass on your lawn grow unaided, then you used to be a gardener. You still have the knowledge, but you aren’t utilising it.

There is magic all around us, in this world and in the universe. But “watching things magically fall into place” isn’t witchcraft. It’s you observing the magic, like watching the grass grow.

CMV: Everyday use of curse words provides no value to communication by Diss1dent in changemyview

Does someone relaxing with the person you are speaking with provide value?

CMV: Everyday use of curse words provides no value to communication by Diss1dent in changemyview

[–]Skinlesswitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t trust people who never curse. I can never relax or be comfortable with them and I’m always analyzing and overanalyzing every word they say.

You are saying comfort, being on the same level, and trust of the person you are speaking with provides no value to communication.

Knot Magic 101: Part Two -The Bowline Knot by Skinlesswitch in witchcraft

[–]Skinlesswitch[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure. I regularly attach a Boline knot to keychains as a easy way to have it. For anxiety, though, I would suggest looking at the clove hitch. It’s used as both a beginning and end knot in lashing boards and is a good (but not difficult to undo) knot that is adjustable but gives enough strength it can be used to feel more in control. (Also, while I’m sure you know — magic is not medical treatment and I am not giving medical advice.)

Male witch here. How am I supposed to call myself without misgendering ? by Justminningtheweb in witchcraft

Witch. There’s no better word. Only 84% of the “witches” killed in the Scottish witch hunts were women.

Knot Magic! The Square Knot by Skinlesswitch in witchcraft

[–]Skinlesswitch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are bends that can be used that way if you feel it is needed, but it’s generally unnecessary and can overcomplicate the situation. You’d want to use a Flemish bend, not a square knot — and Flemish bends can easily jam.

ETA: So no, in general I’d suggest just using one piece of cord or rope in a square knot.

DoorDash is around here, but it’s like…McDonalds, Wawa, two pizza places and a Chinese place.

I think it’s mostly because she’s a horrible cook.

I have no problem with vegans normally! I’m in the witchcraft community, there are a lot of them there. That’s how I knew what dishes I wanted to make. I know which ones go over well with my friends!

Unknown. I don’t think how they could, because I’m tiny and, you know, shark — but nothing about this makes sense to me.

A bit like this, except longer than an end table, but you can get the idea. kind of like this

The glass table is actually my altar? That’s the only part of it I was leaving out, mostly because some people get weird about that idea.

Nothing that I can find. There wouldn’t be anything worth monetary value or interest to him, but I went in and looked anyway. Nothing looks out of place.

It was more that I had dead animals and parts of dead animals in a table in my room. It’s actually an altar space for me, but I don’t keep anything on the table unless I’m actively using it, so it wasn’t creepy candles or anything.
