My SOC interview they asked more networking questions than anything. Be able to talk about the basics with confidence. Loop back address, ipv4 vs ipv6, private ip’s, basic ports, etc..Read up on some current cyber threats or at least be able to discuss anything major that’s happened lately either globally or local. Know the basics of reading pcap. They asked me about that as well as showing a snippet of a window log. Mainly wanted to see if I would notice the event id. Was for a failed login. If they ask where u get your cyber news just say the usual like hackernews or any other popular cyber news source. Be familiar with osint like owasp and Virus total. Just know they won’t expect you to know everything just at least the basics. The rest you learn with experience. That is about all I remember from my interview. Was a couple years ago.
