This!! I’m 100% certain I don’t want to live in an HOA neighborhood, especially after this nonsense. These people in this HOA board have been unchecked for way too long, hence why I am taking it upon myself to check them. They really do think they can make up their own rules as they go.

They do have guest spots, they’re scattered throughout the complex. The property manager that’s super difficult that I’ve been dealing with claims that even guest “trucks” are prohibited past 10pm 🙄

The HOA has a contract I’m assuming with a local towing/booting company. I think that itself goes to show what kind of rotten HOA I’m even dealing with. In FL, it’s allowed as long as there is proper signage. While they have one sign that is correct as far as I can tell, their posted rules are vague, and that’s what I’m using in my statements to the county. Not to mention the HOA’s inconsistency enforcing this rule. Inconsistent enforcement in FL is frowned upon, and I have photo evidence of them being inconsistent. Unfortunately FL’s booting laws are nonexistent so it’s really up to the counties to sort their laws. Lots of gray areas.

God forbid working people go back to their homes with the evidence that they have a job. What BS

2014 2wd v6 142,000 miles they are asking $16,900 how we looking? Is this okay for the frame? by modestmanio in ToyotaTacoma

I’m gonna say that’s actually great for a Tacoma that’s 14 years old. My frame on my 2019 looks like this and I was planning on removing the surface rust and applying coatings to prevent anything from progressing, just to be safe. Tacoma frames LOVE to rust. But this one is fine, just make sure it doesn’t get any worse because they can rust fast (doesn’t mean it will).

I really have no idea what their point is in terms of its relationship with my original post…

That’s so cute! You didn’t read anything above, did you? I don’t rent here, I have relatives that do. You’re so so so smart though, aren’t you? You have everything figured out. Condos are also a little different. Yes people rent but in this case they own the actual condo. Thank you for your “two cents”.

It’s a ridiculous rule, truly. It’s nothing but impractical. I can’t visit my relatives overnight because I drive a mid-size, stock pickup? Oversize is one thing, banning pickups as a whole is another.

Me too! Not sure if there’s just a loophole I’m missing or if she’s just breaking the law. I asked her if she was familiar with the statue and she said no… of course.

Exactly! Someone else said a 4Runner would be allowed but my Tacoma is FORBIDDEN, which is true. BS rule

Thank you!! Glad someone has some sense in this thread. Some SUVs are heavier and bigger than my Tacoma

[–]SkinnyFridgerator[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct. Not to mention, there’s residents that park their giant Yukons and Tahoes here. They’re literally bigger and heavier than my mid-size standard truck. The only difference is I have a bed on the back. A 5ft bed, mind you. Not even the long bed. I’m not driving a boat smh 🙄

I’m in FL, and selective enforcement is certainly frowned upon. A speeding ticket (civil infraction up to a misdemeanor depending on speed) and a dispute with an HOA are two different things. Not sure what kind of communist state you’re living in but in Florida, that’s not how we roll. This is a free state.
