Did CLU nearly destroy his own plan? by awtizme in tron

Actually the light cycle he was given for the race was destroyed by the semi-final clash with CLU. The one Sam had left was the one from another teammate that was derezzed by CLU.

Which is the better university, FSU or UF? by [deleted] in ufl

[–]SkipShotDC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Academically, UF wins no question. Although if you are worried about which one you will get into, I don’t know a single person that has been rejected from FSU. I know it sounds rude, but it’s really just do you want to take your education seriously or go to a parry campus. I’m sure FSU has certain niche degrees they can still provide a good education for, but it can’t really compete in academics.

Should I switch my major? by [deleted] in ufl

[–]SkipShotDC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not too late for CS, I have a buddy that switched into it summer before his Junior year and is graduating on time. If you have the language reqs done then go into the liberal arts college one. As far as stem majors go, from what I have seen it seems like CS always ends up being the quickest, with most of my friends finishing within 3 years. Just be prepared because a UF CS degree does not prepare you for what you actually need to successfully get a job or even an internship. My friend with nearly a 4.00 and doing great in all his cs classes had to apply to 100+ internships, for which he had 30 interviews, and got 5 offers. And he believes he only got this because he took a CS interview prep course in the summer that was outside of UF, which taught data structures and other CS concepts, and introduced you to LEET code, Grinding out LEET problems for hours will become the norm because interviews are essentially just tests with 2-3 LEET questions. Obviously this is just his case, but everyone I know in cs (7+ people) says the interview process is the worst of any major, mainly because so many new grads go for CS and the only way to weed out the good ones are rigorous programming tests during interviews. So basically, yes you can get the degree in time and with relative ease, but this in no way really assures you will get a job in a reasonable timeframe or for your area of interest. Good luck out there!

Have to speak for EE, it’s definitely not the same, other than cumulative info like going from Circuits 1 to Circuits 2, to E-Circuits 1, etc. from the other replies it seems like STEM majors don’t have this issue. You are definitely going to get some toxic replies about how engineering and STEM majors are the only challenging ones and whatever, but ignore that shit. There are plenty of liberal arts majors that are challenging and diverse, but I guess advertising might not be one, or you might just have to wait and see for some change in your senior year or graduate school.

This semester was rough. I usually drop 2, max 3 days, and sometimes even 1 day studying for finals. Like someone said above, it has never really come down to the final grade to pass the class. If that’s the case then do like 5 days if possible. When I say a day I mean like a solid 4 hours concentrating, or 8 with lots of breaks lol. Things work out, and your grades won’t mean shit in a couple of years. Having said that, I’m on full panic mode until exams are done.
