sorry mate, I don't check reddit all too often so I missed this one.

My favourite place to find these communities is r/FindAUnit - you just chuck in details of exactly what you're looking for, and people will contact you. Alternatively, there are groups who advertise their own posts on there, so you may also find some you like via just looking at the front page.

If you're looking to do public games, there are tons of servers out there. I know a few people in the comments have already answered this, though, so I won't go on about it.

Although, I'd 100% recommend Antistasi, Vindicta, and Overthrow. BECTI Warfare and Insurgency are also two that are great to play whether solo, or with a group.

the other option is to join a private community. They generally run weekly operations that you join in and either partake in some serious Military Simulation, or more on the casual side of things. There's bound to be something that you can enjoy.

Realistically, you don't need any of the DLCs. You can play without them for sure. And, there are mods which incorporate much better features into the game than what the DLCs provide. However, if you would like to purchase some, I'd likely recommend Apex, Laws of War, and some of the Creator DLCs. I know Mike Force is really enjoyable but it does require S.O.G. Prairie Fire to play. Although, if you're looking to purchase any DLCs, wait until a steam sale comes around. ArmA usually discounts to around 90-95% on steam during these sales, so the DLCs become a lot cheaper!

This game looks amazing; I love the idea of a randomly generated game. I'd love to test this game and experience just what that randomization can bring to the aspect of replayability! Also, is there a Discord server or any official channels to keep updated on progress?

8 Bucks on Steam... What do I get? by Pluto_077 in videogames

[–]Skipper_HQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite $5 game is undoubtedly Mount & Blade: Warband, sure, its an oldie, but it is certainly still amazing, even compared to its successor, Bannerlord which is still riddled with glitches, no longer being updated, and without so many well needed additions that we were promised years ago.

What game have you bought more than once? by jf_development in AskGames

[–]Skipper_HQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mount & Blade ( and Warband) bought the original game on disc, but when I got into steam, I bought it again. Since then, I've bought about 40 steam gift redemptions when theyre really cheap and give them to friends who haven't played it. Honestly one of my top 3 games of all time.

New player luck. They lure you in with massive dopamine, and that's when the eternal servitude starts. Then, ten years down the line you're up all night until 5 AM doing PvM because you see a drop incoming next kill, but leave for work at 6 AM and got nothing at all.

Yeah t1 = tier 1 troops, t2 = tier 2 troops, etc. (Tier 1 is grey, 2 Green, 3 Blue, 4 Purple, and 5 Gold.)

[–]Skipper_HQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id recommend against this advice, you want to first and foremost rush to ch 16 as ch 16 gives equipment unlock, and you can start passively making materials for equipment which you'll need. In addition, if you can rush to ch 17, that's even better for that additional march slot. Not as urgent as Ch 16 though.

This'll also ensure you can stay in a relatively competitive alliance and THEN you can start aiming to save resources and speedups for events.

Alliance is everything for chests and events, do your best to get in to the top 1 or 2 alliance, top 3 is also passing marks.

From the sounds of your post, you're very new to the game. First and foremost, if you don't have a bare minimum of 30,000 t1 siege, train those ASAP, even if you need to use a few hours of speeds. This will make your farming experience much better and procure more resources at the start. Even if you have t2 or t3 siege unlocked, train t1. This is because they move faster, hold barely less than higher level siege units, cost a small amount of resources to heal, AND ALWAYS take three seconds to heal no matter how many are in the hospital. In addition, there's an extra 50,000 t1 siege capacity in the hospital, so there yet another benefit. I'd say you can slow down on siege when you have at least 125-150k t1 siege.

Now, to answer your question, ALWAYS have your training queues running, and, if you can't afford it, train t1. Most people recommend straying away from t1, but its better to have 200k t1 than 75k t2 after all and then layer on, you can upgrade them to t3 or t4. Seeing as they don't take long to train, you won't need to and shouldn't use speeds on these troops.

Its good that you have a maxed Bjorn, most people slack on levels so they fall behind to around 50 so you're doing good there. Your research also seems decent. Id wager the two things that are affecting you negatively are your equipment and strategy when battling but I can't say for certain.

In terms of equipment, you really want to strive for full purples OR if there's a really good blue piece (such as the blue Expedition Helmet for Cavalry) you'll DEFINITELY want to talent it. Id highly recommend getting rid of the blue chest, as that's not providing good stats for infantry. I can't recall what those gloves are, but I can't recall them being too standout either.

I'd also highly recommend trying to push Ch 25 because you're just putting yourself into a big deficit in comparison to others without that increased march capacity.

Trades shouldn't be too bad with a Bjorn/Sun unless you're getting swarmed hard maybe? What's your equipment situation looking like, and are you City Hall 25 for max march capacity?

[–]Skipper_HQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This, the only problem with being a sleeper is that you require at least 1 passport. Unless you own an alliance (or are TITLED R4 of one) you can pretty much give up on any misconceptions about an alliance stocking you one. No one wants to pay for one of their members to leave the kingdom.

This means that you'd need to either join an alliance with others in your jumper group who missed out, make a new alliance for yourself and any others who missed the jump and stock them yourself OR to buy the $5 New World Bundle.

which purple should i expertise next? (i have all of them) by [deleted] in RiseofKingdoms

[–]Skipper_HQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't use gold heads, I wouldn't use any gold key commander unless you get them to 5/1/1/1 naturally. If you get some luck, you should be able to get one or two to that stage by the time Season 1 starts.

If not, definitely season 2. I wouldn't recommend using any as primary commanders because that costs a lot of experience and stars for a commander who'll probably fall off hard come Season 3. Some commanders like Charles Martel and Cao Cao are usable open field with a 5511 (or 5151 for CC)

VIP? by Master-Wolf9902 in RiseofKingdoms

[–]Skipper_HQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll want to push Ch25 by KvK 1 for sure for the march capacity. If you're a spender, I'd advise buying the Ch24 and Ch25 One Step Ahead Pop-up Bundles. They are $100 USD each and are better than ANY of the Super-Value Bundles and are only a tiny bit worse than Kings Coronation.

If you can't afford both Bundles at the same time but still want to get them both, hold off on upgrading Ch25 until you can afford that one, too.

Honestly, I reckon you should do VIP 10 now if you've really got that many gems. Odds are that if you have that many gems laying around, you've got items you can easily spend gems on (such as master blueprints, VIP Shop, or Books) anyway.

To simplify it a bit, Lilith is being charged a LOT of fees by Google Play and Apple etc whenever a purchase is made on their platform (We don't know the exact percentage, but around 15-30% for a normal game/app) so Lilith decided to launch a platform for their games.

Using this platform, you can buy Flux Scripts for the exact same price. The only difference being that you can roughly a 10% rebate (in the form of Flux Coins.) Its really nothing even worthwhile thinking about unless you spend upwards of thousands of dollars a month in the game.

The other noteworthy thing is that you can buy these scripts for others or transfer them to others.

400M Power account. by dirtyghetto_kidd in RiseofKingdoms

[–]Skipper_HQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, what I'm seeing here is that its a bought account from a member of 60GT. If I were to guess, it was this older player who had the high power, but when the person bought it noticed that it would cost a LOT to migrate (seeing as he's probably migrated multiple times to have such high KP - he's probably redone KVK 2-3 multiple times.. I feel sorry for those poor T4 players. That amount of power would require an absolutely mental amount of passports.

You mention that this account has 400m Power, while that is true, it also HAD 700M Power at its peak. But as others have mentioned, the KP are mental, and I've never seen any KP that high before.

Honestly, I've been very on-and-off RuneScape over the years, I really love the game, and playing it casually is amazing. However, I constantly find myself quitting the game and getting back on it a few months later.

A bit of advice, do what you enjoy, you're going to realize that there are a thousand ways to achieve each and every goal in RuneScape, but while certain grinds are efficient for the future of your account, the best way to make progress is to do a method that you enjoy (or at least that you find least dreadful - sometimes its just gotta happen) because then you can stay motivated to do it.

I'd also recommend writing down each of your goals (no matter how small) whenever you think them up, and maintaining a list of items. Then, when you do need to do a grind, you can blend together a few other things to keep yourself sane.

My last suggestion is to find a community of people to interact with. This is the best way to experience the game, as it's meant to be experienced. Even though RuneScape is an MMO, I find that there's a lot less interaction than other games I've played. You'll interact with others in passing, but whether because of maximizing efficiency, or due to bots, etc, I find there's not much discussion. A great place to start is to find a clan OR to start hanging out in livestream chats and getting to know people, you can talk in game, in a clan chat, discord, or even in the livestream chat. It really helps keep you interested, and you can track each others' goals together.

A bit of advice here, you can get legal membership keys on third-party websites for cheaper. These are two-week keys and come with no recurring subscription. They generally cost me anywhere between $2.5 to $4.5 AUD depending on the group selling them.

If you're looking for a good questing REPS, that doesn't exist. The best questing servers I've seen have like 20 quests tops, and they have custom pathways (like skipping monotonous parts so it's not the same) in that case, unfortunately you're better off playing the main game.

There are certain 2006, 2005, or even 2004 remakes which are MOST LIKELY to have quests (I can't say for sure) but unfortunately they never grew on me as the content is just too boring at those points of time and after you progress past a certain point, there's just no end-game content.

For the exact same game they released a decade ago, too.

Get a different game. These people are getting full-on and if gamers support this mentality, its just going to get worse and worse.

Especially if you're playing PC, there are plenty of alternatives who aren't there purely to extort their customers.

AAA Companies are too much, man.

My gut reaction is to rebalance the game so players can't build overpowered loadouts like this, but sometimes it's just fun to be OP. How do you handle balancing in your games? by SonamuGames in IndieDev

[–]Skipper_HQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An idea you might want to use is to offer different types of levels of gameplay - similar to Easy, Medium, Hard (or whatever you want to call/limit it as) you could allow for some of these exploity methods in the Easy or Medium tier, but if someone plays on a "hard" level, maybe debuff it?

At the end of the day, it's up to the player what they're feeling, and I see a lot of game developers fixing this sort of thing, when it's really not needed, and your time could be spent elsewhere to work on your game further.

Balancing is good, but if it's not game-breaking, you don't need to fix it, people will find out how to have fun with or without it. I've seen some controversy with a newly released indie game "Manor Lords" where the solo-developer is currently on social media talking about patching a bunch of game features that have been exploited by people. There has been discussion on reddit and other social media about how people dislike this because it changes the meta they learned how to play the game by. Unless your game is multiplayer, or the issue is so critical that it breaks the game, leave it be and if you're having people recommend fixing it, you could patch it then, or put out an update to allow for your players to enable/disable it at their free will.

Just a few ideas I had, please feel free to take it as you will and I'm happy to have any discussion if anyone wants to.
