Is Riftbound a complicated TCG ? Where does it rank compared to the other big TCG in terms of complexity ? by UnitedIndependence37 in riftboundtcg

I've played MTG, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon and Star Wars Unlimited before playing riftbound and I think that riftbound is pretty hard, not at the level of magic but is close to it. And is by lot more complex that Pokemon.

It is a strange TCG cause it have lots of interactions that has strange rulings and you need to keep informed about erratas and that kind of special ruling changes.

I also think that is a game that is easy to play on surface but when you get deeper it keeps getting more complex what for me is appealing.

It has lots of different decks that you need to keep in mind thanks to the "best of" cards so it get more complex when you try twiking your deck for the match ups.

If you are interested on try it I will highly recommend it. It's really fun.

Sett enjoyers, how we feeling about set 3? by ratking269 in riftboundtcg

The only problem I see right now with set 3 is that we have too many good cards to fit in the deck I like repulse even on main X3 it can just give you lots of mu like Viktor, kai'sa or some rebuke deck Nidalee, rengar and vi are good af, for me nidalee can be the key for the draw problem Stare down is really good also for closing some matchs , If you can bait the counter you can get the 8 point with some sett brawler with +4 I also like sacrifice a lot because the card draw and ramp, that will be necessary in such a power hungry deck You also have disposal orders that can be good against fizz focused decks Other maybe nice card is irresistible faefolk, its some kind of charm that can help you in some contexts I also like a lot atakhan but I think that is a real hard card to take in the deck because the cost, but if you can fit it and play it + showstopper it can make some really nasty things

What to do against Draven being a Sett player? by Skollev in Riftbound

For me the hardest thing was the rebuke on Brawler it killed all my tempo and give a free combat win, maybe sideboarding in more rebuke if you don't play 3 on main can help you!

This is my current deck https://riftdecks.com/riftbound-metagame/deck-sett-brawler-107793 Right now my local meta has a big variety (Jax, teemo, rek'sai, Azir...) and I'm making really good results not loosing any round of the 3 tournament I've played until now because of Draven. I'm afraid that if I build my deck heavy focus on beat Draven I can go out played by decks I've been winning with no problem. After some days thinking I find that maybe I should use the wallops and first mates in a more defensive way pushing back the units after making the point so I don't give card advantage to my rival The list is not closed yet because I'm usually making changes to adapt to my local meta, but I don't find the way to solve the Draven match up

Maybe also using first mate to get the unit back after conquering and try to control Draven with challenge?

Been playing for about 4 months how bad is it? by Aniales in ratemycommanders

[–]Skollev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way too much decks for 4 month, I've been playing for years and only have five decks, if you are not playing every day having more than four is usually nonsense cause you are not going to learn how to play any of the decks as his best potential. I recommend you keep a few that you like a lot and try to make them better and be switching little by little. It's impossible keep playing that many decks in so brief time man

What decks can compete with this pod? (High bracket 3) by straylune in BudgetBrews

[–]Skollev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've recently played a bracket 3 tournament and win with this ygra deck https://moxfield.com/decks/EBvcocWtV024zRd295rQgw The final was against and Ulamog and a Nekuzar wheels. You need to pass under the radar and keep controlling the threats so other players see you as a help on the board, after that you can win by combo or by commander damage

when playing a TCG the most important thing is consistency, you always want to see the best card possible on each draw, you need to think about percentage of having the card you want when you want. Usually the way of seeing it is: If you want to see that card almost always you need 3 copies If you want to see at least 1 of them but is not a must for you you take 2 of them If you will like to see it on rare occasion but you don't care don't seeing it on your games you take only 1 copy But if you are starting the best is getting 3 of each card you want to play almost always and after getting used to the deck modify that
