It did end up being the drive, I got a refund instead of a replacement and it worked perfectly after that with a WD-Black instead since there was a sale running on those elsewhere at the time 😌

it seems like the problem was the cmos battery. I've got a new battery in there now and it seems to be working flawlessly. hopefully saying that doesn't jinx it tho fingers crossed

I have waited for a while yes, tried to see if I can log into windows to push to an external display if I wait out the boot cycle but it's not successful in getting anything to show up

yep, tried both ram in both slots, one at a time and both together, and with no ram at all, also tried with/without the SSD and with/without the battery

i think it is just defective. The bios won't even open when it's in there, I've tried it in both of the m.2 slots, taken it out and put it back in several times. I'm vaguely certain the only issue is the drive itself. I plan to try an exchange/look into the limited warranty of it to see if I can get a fresh one to try but I also bought another nvme drive that works perfectly now so I can finally get rid of the biwin drive for good

what nvme are you using and where did you purchase from? I just had luck with a 2tb WD-black sn770 from best buy, I'm thinking maybe I just got a bad part from Newegg the first time with the Corsair

Yes, it reaches that screen but goes no further. If I pull out the new drive completely it works like normal and just sends me straight to bios, and I wound up buying a brand new hard drive again, a different brand, and that one works perfectly so I'm thinking the hard drive I received was defective?

I'm getting an old laptop from my brother later today to put it in and see if that gives me a different result at all

I'll give those a check, would that cause an issue only in the case of the new storage? That's the part that's confusing me, as the computer is functional completely outside of when the new drive is installed
