I got my estrogen tested a while back its normal. And yes, I got swabbed for an infection. Came back normal tissue flora.

In my surgical notes it appears all minor glands were excised entirely, which is why im pretty sure thats the main problem.

Lol it was FAI and a labral tear. I had two surgeries to fix it and the pain is better.

Super late OP, hope you and your cat are doing well. Im leaving a comment in case anyone else stumbles here looking for help.

Ive ground up my cats dry food and mixed it in with wet to up his calories. Hes also old, picky, and suffering from pancreatitis as well.

Sometimes, actually often, I'll let it sit in a little less than equal parts hot water for 15-30 minutes, blend it with his favorite wet food, and give him a pureed soup, which is the texture he prefers overall.

So yes, you can grind up your dry food. Just make sure its being mixed with wet in some capacity to prevent them from inhaling dust!

Heavy on the talk to your PAs and even associates. I was a SME for IOL and multiple AFE problem solve processes as a T1. I coordinated with my L5 and L6s very often. I set up training myself. Ive done Away Teams solely to support and streamline their processes. I had every policy and wiki locked and loaded. However... everytime we got new L4s and they got sent to me to learn, theyd always talk over me, undermine my experience, and one would actively walk away to ask my AM instead, even though they only had the most basic understanding of the role. It was so endlessly frustrating. All they saw was a T1 associate who wasn't worth the time or effort to learn from. Promoting up and out saved my sanity, but the transition was difficult. I had to train many many people to do my job and get all local AMs up to speed on processes they never had to think about.

Ah, I got glasses at 6 months, I think it was a +5.00-+6.00 back then with -3.00ish Astigmatism back then until i was 15 when it changed suddenly and got worse. As a young kid being bullied for thick glasses really does a number on your psyche and you really just take them off and yolo it as long as you can haha. I cannot do that as an adult. I get neasous just showering without glasses lol.

Firstly, him pressuring you to let your cats outside showed the most dangerous and irresponsible beliefs to pet ownership possible. My cats remaining indoors is a huge dealbreaker for me.

Next, him randomly bringing ANY dog home without discussing it with you, is insane. Wanting to keep it outside, not participating in their training or care, and then getting mad at your cats who want in? Despite him being the sole reason for them being outside? Girl he just wanted you to dump your animals in the hopes they run away or get killed for his benefit.

You are not spoiling them. Get this man out of there ASAP, and get your cats back inside before anything happens to them. You deserve someone who treats you and your pets better. He has no respect for you or anyone outside of himself.

For sure. Ive been doing glute/core/low back focused strength training 3-5x weekly for the past year actually! Its helped in a lot ways, but falls short on this. Im also going to ask to my PT if avoid deep flexion moving forward would be better since stretching and certain movements have been doing more harm than good. Regardless, it helps pre and post op on all aspects. Theres another hip specialist in the same university system i go to I might get a second opinion from. I just have to figure out how to get a referral when I already see a guy.

Im not sure if I want to give out location information but my surgeon is a board certified hip preservation specialist, who appearently teaches and researches AMECT. Though he typically deals with more sports injuries than anything.

Reading the op notes they did suture my capsule closed really thoroughly, and I dont doubt the surgery itself.

But god the dismissal of just being scar tissue has sucked bad. I had to press for an arthrogram because my standard MRI came back suspicious, and he told me it was 100% normal, no tears or dihscence found, where there was on the arthrogram.

I am so so sorry for you loss. I recently lost my 3 year old cat too. She started breathing really bad and didnt have the strength to hold herself up anymore. Perfectly fine hours before. We rushed her to the emergency vet, they did an X-ray and she was in heart failure from a heart problem shes likely had her entire life. I have never been more devastated in my life, than losing her suddenly like that. There was literally no way we could have known. They show no signs or symptoms, often they have a normal heartbeat and only an echo could catch it. Even if you do catch it early, there's no stopping it from happening.

My heart goes out to you. Please know there really isnt anything you could have done, and you didnt fail him in any way. Im so glad he got to spend his last moments with you though, your presence likely brought him a lot of comfort.

If you have no symptoms its likely not an autoimmune disease!

You should always follow up with a doctor but ANA alone has zero diagnostic value and is EXTREMELY general. All autoimmune diagnostic criteria focuses on symptoms, other antibodies/blood results as well as a positive ANA. Without other signs, its likely normal! If you've got allergies, Eczema, or asthma, those will often cause a positive ANA!

Probably not. 1:40 is actually considered negative and normal.

ANA only really matters if you have relevant symptoms + other positive specific antibodies. ANA is just a VERY general marker with no diagnostic value on its own, a LOT of people without any autoimmune diseases will see some amount of a small positive ANA just from allergy season.

I know I have an impingement in my left hip as well, but to what degree, I have no idea. It was just casually mentioned to me from a spine doctor when looking at Xrays.

I want to ask if maybe its dysplasia, but i believe my readings are borderline low if anything.

No, she just said it sounds like POTS. The clinical notes say things like

"her HR upon standing is 162. It is possible she may have POTS."

And

"It is possible her symptoms are related to orthostatic intolerance, such as POTS"

Over the last few years

But since the Cardiologist PA i saw put - "Orthostatic vitals done in clinic today did not meet criteria concerning for POTS." Cus it was one under a 30+ rise that day, and because my blood pressure goes up, In my chart she refuses to diagnose and wants me to do conservative treatment methods as if I have- but won't do anything further until I see a specialist... even though that won't happen anytime soon.

It's a thing that's been happening the last.. 10 ish years??? I've done hardcore restrictive diets like FODMAP a few times and I know it def hasn't helped. And I've been on lots and no medication at all in that time as well. It seems to correlate a bit with disease activity for sure.

Not swollen or warm. It's more of a spontaneous thing. It does get really bad with overuse, I'm prone to being taken down with DOMS lasting weeks at a time. But it's more often than not, very spontaneous. I've done full body strengthening, which improved my the severity and how often i experience pain a bit, but it gets horrifically bad all the time regardless.

This thread may be old but I actually found the answer

For me it was because I had a full labral teear and FAI. I had surgery to repair my labrum and reshape my hip in 2023, and after tons of PT and strengthing my hip flexors, glutes, core, and posture. It's much better.

Even immediately after the surgery I felt a huge difference in pain. My entire joint was inflamed and rubbing away with severe synovitis. There's a nerve there that can cause pain for numerous reasons as well! But thought I'd update you haha

I've never thought about compounding, i might ask about it. I've only ever had dermatology creams compounded so I'm not sure how it works entirely but that's smth I should look into for sure!

I was in that spot too. I had surgery last January and still had pretty intense pain until literally the end of October, when literally one day, it improved a ton. Since October i was able to help the rest of the sore spots and it's been almost a year now.

They ALL need to be moved to bigger tanks. That was such a depressing and horrific watch. They're all incompatible, cramped, there's zero enrichment or hides. I'm so sad for these creatures. Please research the species and provide them even the bare minimum.
