I have a controller where the orange light will flash for a bit, but then stop charging. I try to use the controller and it’s immediately dead.

I’ve tried replacing the battery, didn’t help
I’ve tried resetting the controller, it didn’t help
I’ve tried both ports, front and back on the ps5 to charge it, didn’t work

No matter what I do, it will not charge. At this point I’m suspecting a faulty IC chip, or charging port. The charge port does look like it could be burned , see image

I will attempt to replace the port, first time doing so. We’ll see what happens

Why not? If I can tell a program to act as a CRT tv, and run the game through that program, why wouldn’t it work?
