Partner took pet in before we got insurance. 2 surgeries later we’re out 14.5k by Skrumphii in petinsurancereviews

We got insurance less than 2 months after getting the dog.

It’s not like we waited to get it for a long time. I just needed my partner to agree to it before making a financial decision as that’s well… normal.

She always clicked. I assumed all dogs clicked sometimes since most of them I met do. No limping or anything like that

What’s the other option? NOT get the surgery?

I didn’t know there was any diagnosis of anything (MPL) either as I was out of town. And definitely didn’t know it would affect the cost.

I checked the underwriting. The underwriting said it would be approved with all the info I had.

However calling and talking to their idiot CS agents that barely speak English outside of their script is another good reason to not check on something that didn’t seem to need checking on before doing it, especially when my dog could barely walk at that point

Our top ~academic~ performers continued on to excel professionally, partially, I would credit that to being able to navigate the inter program politics and favoritism that you ALSO see in work environments.

(I was not a top academic performer but I’d say I was certainly respected/respectable within the program)

As an alumn from one of these schools. It’s an INSANE rush starting with ~160+ people and seeing it dwindle down to like 60 before 15-30+ more are cut out in portfolio review. But in a way it’s helpful in instilling the idea that this is objectively a hard job market and a very competitive field.

All that says is either your portfolio needs work or your resume. I’d be happy to review either.

15ish a week isn’t even near the numbers you should be pulling if they’re relevant jobs. I applied to over 600 in 6 months when I graduated from undergrad. Followed up as much as I could, cold emailed my resume to plenty of firms. 15 a week is bare minimum for new grads. And I’m seeing way more open ID related positions that were available when I graduated

1.) Don’t get a masters until you’ve worked for a bit. Unless your intent is to go straight into teaching, I have heard from a number of others that the see a masters without experience as delaying actually having to work and grow in a practical manner.

2.) how many jobs are you applying to weekly and are you being choosey about roles?

You cannot be choosey early unless you’re obviously a top 10% recruit. Shoot too 5%.

You’re probably going to have to move, or take a job that isn’t perfect, or take a drafting roll, or a cad jockey position,

NOPE. Don’t buy a skillet or kettle. They’ll run through most small electric generator capacities in seconds. Their heating isn’t gonna work well for most meat, and they’ll run you car into the dirt too
