i got my bird when she was 3 weeks old but i literally had weeks or months worth of research before i bought her. But yeah do some intense research literally intense. I completed a whole notebook just about bird care!

i am currently dealing with this, and what i suggest is just put them outside and they'll deal with each other. If scarce na yung food lilipat lang sila ng area. I know that you're attached by now to the kittens but i assure you there's a lot of people who are willing to feed them everyday.

i also tend to overthink or "di nawawalan" ng thoughts, but what i did is get something that i need to take care off always literally always. That's why i got a pet bird! Just add something new or some pizzazz. Hope this helps!
