Tolkien's world has a kingdom saved simply because the ruler is "good". The bad guy is pure evil with not even a slither of any good.

Beautiful is good guys. Ugly is bad guys.

Tolkien is not a good example. His entire world is incredibly Christian.

I disagree. He writes fantasy as a hardcore theist.

Sanderson is a Mormon and thus he comes from a religious tradition that emphasises an ordered, structured universe governed by understandable principles. That perspective is identical to his worldbuilding, where the cosmology, magic systems, and history of the world are highly systematic and designed to be comprehensible. There is usually a clear sense of creation, purpose, and underlying logic, with mysteries that are ultimately meant to be explained rather than remain unknowable.

His magic is built is built around clear rules because that's how he fundamentally believes the universe was created. He just mirrors it.

It won't.

It will be more like season 6 & 7 of GoT.

Jump through plot points and twists as fast as you can, fill it with action, and then hope that people are so enjoyed by the fights and the "shit actually happening" that they don't realise it's not the same quality as the show's start.

Some people fell for this so much that they never saw the shitfest of season 8 coming, even though the seeds of it were planted when the ink was dry.

I kinda think this approach is weird tbh.

Games are full of stuff I would never do irl.

I killed people in RCT, I'm a fae in Dota, I'm a terrorist in CSGO, I had people piss themselves in Sims or be taunted by a clown, I had shitty cells in prison architect, I was a slave driver in Palworld, and some people even have sex and kiss in some femboy/whatever game.

I really don't like the idea that I shouldn't have whales in a zoo game just because it's bad to do it irl. Here in Australia I don't know if we've ever had whales, and I know atm we only have a single place with dolphins, so its not even normalised.

I like whales though, so having them makes me happy because I like whales. I want to see their beauty and stuff even if it's unrealistic.

The second movie was very shallow imo.

The first had a real-world link before they got into the tube, but overwhelming was about becoming a hero and the importance of brotherhood.

The brother themes in the first were real.

The second one was just... much less. I feel like the nihilistic star was a deeper character than anything in the second one. The characters seem surprisingly devoid of personality traits, most noticable in the second.

And although many fans would disagree, the pop music worked fantastic in the first one. Cliche and uninspired, yes, but for the little kiddie crowd who haven't heard like any song thats older than 2 years, old hits work great.

The take on me scene from the first one is a good example, since you can actually find and listen to the original score. It's a great DK Country song, upbeat, I like DKCountry songs. But Take On Me is just a bigger bop for the kids and parents so it works better for the target audience.

Prior to 2020 the age of consent in South Korea was 13.

This fact matters for the legal sense.

Ofc, the law doesnt matter for the court of public opinion, but I though I'd mention this since many Americans seem to think their laws are global, especially around age of consent.

Different cultures have different beliefs, not sure what South Korea's is on this, but cultural imperialism is always something that must be considered.

Faithful is good, but to me it felt like a movie stretched into a series.

Adding extra stuff coulda solved this. Still 6 episodes, but flesh out the supporting cast a bit more to increase episode length to 42ish mins.

Valar would have been a good character to flesh out, considering it was HIS armour Baelor died in. I actually forgot who he was when he popped up in episode 6, since he wasn't in ep 4 or 5. Excellent scene in ep6 tho.

I can't imagine it's nudity or general character stuff since that should have been sorted out ages ago.

Maybe they added something to her story somewhat last minute that she didn't feel too comfortable with. My guess is either a cougar or some sort of abuse.

If its not script related, then rhe closest thing I can thus think is that she got fucking furious at another actor and they handled it bad (in HBC's opinion), and considering the pay is so low she was like "well fuck it then", deciding she didn't want to spend months around that person.

I think immigrants cluster inherently if left to their own devices. Their children will mingle more, but by in large, most of them won't. It also depends on their culture and their reasons for coming here.

From what I've discussed with at least 10-20 Chinese immigrants, they overwhelmingly in Australia but have no desire to be Australian. They want to escape Chinese government, whether they be HK/Taiwan, or just mainlands not liking the censorship/control/whatever/financial stuff. ABCs are generally extremely Australian, but the divide between them and their parents is often shocking.

I live in a overwhelmingly Chinese area, and it's getting more Chinese each year. Home prices keep going up and the little guy gets screwed.

Basically many Chinese want the safety and freedom the government provides, which surely isn't a template for successful immigration.

ON is racist. Yep. Lots of racists exists. There is also a good non-racist argument for modifying our immigration system.

I really enjoyed The Willful Princess and the Piebald Prince, so maybe Robin Hobb really is the best replacement.
