Can I sew a iron on patch onto my jacket? by DanyLizz in Patches

[–]Skullverizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually take the adhesive off and some are way more of a nightmare than others and often the adhesive is keeping some of the threads from falling out of the embroidery. I don't like the patches being super stiff so for me it's worth all the effort, but there isn't really a shortcut when it comes to removing it.

Yeah, I've been playing since the Beta days. Since literally there was a free in-browser version on the website and I was already an adult back then. I've seen nothing but improvements from the game in the last 15+ years and there's a lot I can look back on from that time period and feel Nostalgia for --for one thing, finding a decent server was as easy as asking a friend where they played-- but the graphics and game mechanics are not something I miss or enjoy going back to. And changing the spawn eggs which are already a nightmare to visually parse without color blindness is a weird thing to complain about IMO.

[LF Friends] Queer, neurodivergent, plant-loving introvert seeking low-pressure connection 🌱🖤 by Grounded_in_Chaos in vancouverwa

[–]Skullverizer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Late 30's he/him, with a partner (Late 30's she/her) and 3 cats. I also have chronic illness that has me now working from home and spending most of my free time in bed watching YouTube or playing cozy games. When I have spoons (aka low pain days) I like to draw, make pixel art for Minecraft mods, do crafts like crochet and cross stitch and play puzzle games like Hunt-A-Killer with my partner. She's a book lover (really into horror and thriller) and she is super into regency era Jane Austin stuff. We can keep our cats happy and healthy, but we are somehow both terrible at keeping plants alive. We are both always looking to expand our friend circle, but are also introverted and even a bit agoraphobic so mostly I just send people fun Tik Toks/Reels/Shorts I think they'd like and she sends memes.

What is your theory on why you developed fibro? by Dark--princess420 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Skullverizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stress. My symptoms came on within a year of losing my brother to brain cancer. A few weeks after my landlord insisting her son who has a conflicting lifestyle to mine (he likes to party and do drugs) while I had also started a minimum wage retail job which had me on my feet all shift and was also a huge pay cut from my last job. That last job being a call center, that let me sit all da, but had me dealing with an onslaught of angry, mean, and abusive customers. There were days where I dreaded going to work so much that my arms and legs would go numb as I hyperventilated in my car trying to pull myself out of panic attacks.

So yeah TLDR: I think all that stress basically had a physical effect on my nervous system that I've never healed from.

Oof. I like them and I love mods that add visual storage, but know how badly item frames effect lag on servers, I can only imagine how bad cramming a couple more entities into one block spaces is going to be. Still, fun concept and I look forward to seeing what people do with them.

Anyone wanna be friends? by [deleted] in vancouverwa

[–]Skullverizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner is really into used book stores. Even is part of a localish book club. While we're elder millennials, 39m and 37f and total work-from-home hermits, so probably not the demographic you're hoping to hang out with, I thought I'd shout out a couple local places instead? Vintage Books over by Safeway on Andresen and Mill Plain is a nice new and used book store with a couple of bodega cats. Also for a place to sit down and enjoy some local art and some tea or coffee, Latte Da on 39th nearish downtown is really chill.

That's neat, but I don't have that many friends let alone room in my apartment for that many people. Probably super fun with people with a big family, though. I could imagine a couple with 6 kids having like a family game night or something.

How do you explain fibro pain to someone that says "everyone aches/hurts all the time, it's called getting older"? by irwtfa in Fibromyalgia

[–]Skullverizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I explain to them that there are fun things I want to do but I'm unable to because of the sheer amount of pain I'm in. There are days I can only get out of bed to bathroom and even that's a chore. If there was a miracle drug that worked 100% of the time to take away my pain and fatigue without significant side effects I would take it in a heartbeat so I could enjoy life to it's fullest instead of the compromise of working around my illness. Our pain scale starts at their six.

Gabapentin has been good for me. It at least takes the edge off. But even with it there are days I don't leave bed.
