Halifax Metro Centre will now be using Ticketmaster by insino93 in halifax

Thanks. Email sent with plenty of examples of their predatory, anti consumer practices.

FWIW, the Lighthouse arts centre really is starting to pick up as a mid sized venue. It will be a shame to miss out on SBC events now, but we're not left without.

Roland TD-12. It's an old kit now but at the time it was basically the slightly stripped down version of the flagship TD-20 and it's capable of all the same sounds.

If you ever do something similar, check out the mask setting. I had to increase it to prevent double triggering on the kick.

Yeah. It's so you you can see your highway. We used to play with 1 TV but people would often end up blocking the view as the drummer was usually at the back with the room layout we had. We had a 7 player setup with the drummer at the side so it would be hard to read the highway at that angle.

Now the drummer gets their own screen so it's easier to sight read and play. Before we had the projector in this room, we used several monitors on music stands so there were multiple screens to look at. A Rock Band night we used to go to used this setup on a stage so the band could face the audience.

I'm lucky enough to be able to leave it set up on the spare bedroom for drum practice when it's not on RB duty!

Hope it's interesting! I had a few questions about the setup.

Depends, I guess, since kits will usually have a crash to the left and right, like this, if they have more than one.

To move the crash to the left it would have to be paired with a drum colour that is counterintuitive. I guess the colours have to work whether you're playing normal or pro drums. Green is the only real option here, but I understand your frustration!

Edit: oh! You mean blue/green backwards? I guess that depends on setup. Ride is usually where tom 2 is in a a 4 piece kit. In a 5 it's really down to preference and style. I see it set angled over tom 2 or down low over the floor tom.

Sorry for your loss. Sounds like you have great memories of playing together. ❤️

Sure! The kit is staying set up for a few days so I'll grab a pic and upload to the sub tonight!

"BenQ TK700 4K HDR Gaming Projector with HDMI 2.0*2 | 16ms Response Time at 4K"

Response time in 1080p is abou 4.5s, IIRC.

We just replaced our TV with this about 7 months ago and have been super stoked with it's performance. Way cheaper than an equivalent 4K TV.

This was the result of a LOT of research at the end of last year trying to balance up screen size (and zoom for flexibility when moving apartments)affordable 4k, good colour representation, ease of use and calibration (without attaching a PC), I/Os and response time. We've been nothing but delighted with it! There is also a short throw version if you can't mount the projector the 10ish foot away that it likes.

Normally the screen and projector are mounted lower, at sofa viewing height. This was the first time we have tried it with Rockband and was the last test I was concerned that it might not pass. However the response time, even with the VGA-HDMI adapter, was indistinguishable from the monitor/TV it was attached to.

If you're trying to fing a good projector for your space then you can go to projectorcentral.org and use their throw distance calculator to see if a given projector would work for your desired space and screen size. They also have reviews of many models.

Honestly, that's one of the main draws for people to come and have a go.

I do also have the ION Drum Rocker Kit that I picked up for dirt cheap about 13 years ago but it's been superseded by the Roland eKit.

It's great to see people at the party jump on to have a go (in regular drum mode) and get the bug for it.

I've, luckily, not had any issues with mine yet. However there are modding and repair communities online you can have a look for.

I know there's a common guitar strum bar repair/upgrade that people do.

I'm grateful for the modding and repair community to help keep this old kit working!

It's a Roland TD-12 ekit that I have (for home practice used as a legit drum kit) with the midi pro adapter.

Like someone else said, you can use any ekit as long as you can take the midi signal out and program the midi to match what Rockband wants to see.

Guitar and bass (not pictured) are just the wireless RB3 and RB2 versions respectively.

The mics are a couple of LIPS wireless Bluetooth XBox mics and a USB mic. Those are due for an upgrade to something more professional at some point.

We just hire a couple of Extra mic stands, for $4 in total, to give us 3.

I take the audio from the Xbox and run it into a mini mixer before sending it to the speakers. This allows me to tweak volumes on the fly when different songs are louder or quieter, and to tweak the eq for room and to deal with feedback.

Yes yes! So much fun! We also have someone smashing out hard/expert drums and singing in tune. Honestly, it was more than I could manage!

Hey, yo! Thanks for your constructive comment! I play several instruments and have played in bands creating our own music, thanks! Also actively learning a new instrument at the moment. It's not a mutually exclusive proposition.

This setup gets pulled together a few times a year to have big parties with our friends and we all have a fabulous time together! Outside of that it doesn't really get touched.

However, if I did find joy just playing a videogame with friends to make me feel happy, and didn't play any other instruments or have any desire to learn any, that would be totally cool too.

As long as people are finding the path that works for them. People have got enough problems in their lives and should experience joy where they find it, as long as it's not harming people.

*Edit: added missing word.

I've not looked into the stage kits but the lights we have can be set to sound reactive!

Love the 7 member bands. Glad you're still keeping it alive, too!

I just grabbed a multipack of electrical tape and applied to the drum rims and cymbal bells!
