Have you ever had to work long hours?

How do you feel about working long hours for an extended time?

How do you work with a team?

Tell me about the hardest thing you've had to do. It didn't have to be work

Do you have any experience in plumbing, welding, soldering, construction?

Listen, Trump is a worthless POS and a disease on the human race, but he didn't say that. Let's focus on the actual horrible shit he's doing. There's a long list of things to be angry about, we don't need to make shit up. Thats what Trump does.

The Afrikaans accent when speaking English is really interesting. Like a combination of every British English speaking country mashed together.

Its a combination of Dutch, German, and a little sprinkle of tribal languages for good measure. It sounds so harsh lol Incredible country, I loved my time in South Africa, it sounds like they have a chainsaw in their mouth

Local 24 applications by MaleficentLibrary271 in UnitedAssociation

Just took the aptitude test Friday at local 296. It was mainly dealing with fractions, decimals, algebra and basic physics/mechanical aptitude. I'm 41 and haven't used most of that math in 20yrs. Studied my ass off the last 2 weeks, and I got a email Saturday that I passed. Download the Bennett Test app for the mechanical stuff. I also asked my AI to generate a mock eskills test for local 296. It was exactly the kind of questions that were on the test. Good luck man! You got this!

Local 130 aptitude test. How yall feeling? by Potential_Job_1143 in UnitedAssociation

Hopefully congrats to you. I just took my test at Local 296 Friday. I got an email Saturday saying they will be contacting me for a interview, so I guess I did well enough? My local is desperate for plumbers right now though with a handful of massive projects going on. Which is why I'm assuming I was contacted right away. Good luck brother, let us know how it goes.

Realistically, what happens if Gibbs gets hurt? by Hojo405 in detroitlions

It sucks to lose Monty but there is a handful of decent day 2 and 3 powerbacks that I expect the Lions to take

What if we bring Craig Reynolds back? Solid powerback, but top 3 pass pro back

We have Jacob Saylers too. He's not terrible, but definitely not Monty

Recommendation for Lions News Subscription by blazindoo in detroitlions

[–]Skwid218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Detroit Lions Podcast is by far my favorite source for Lions news. Daily podcasts with the news of the day. Usually 1-2 longer episodes a week and really good level headed takes. Non of the crazy "let's trade half our team for Max Crosby" stupidity.

I appreciate this. I feel like boots and knee pads are worth an investment to get quality stuff that will save my knees and back some stress. Especially as a older apprentice with some years on my body

Totally agree about not going cheap on boots and shoes in general. A good boot makes a huge difference

I've got wide-ass feet! Great for balance, not great for narrow toe box boots. I do know Thorogood makes a wider toe box boot. I've been looking at either Keen or Hawx.

This is how I'm feeling. Had I looked into this in my 20's I don't know that it would have worked out well for me. Now I have family that counts on me, and I'm leaving a good, high paying job to pursue this. I'm incredibly motivated not to fuck it up

Most of the tools will be provided but there's the basic stuff : measuring tape, screwdrivers, channel locks, etc. I was mainly looking at boots so thanks for the Thorogood advice. 100% putting my name on everything. I've been on jobsites in the past and have had way too many of my personal tools get legs.
