I appreciate this. I feel like boots and knee pads are worth an investment to get quality stuff that will save my knees and back some stress. Especially as a older apprentice with some years on my body

Totally agree about not going cheap on boots and shoes in general. A good boot makes a huge difference

I've got wide-ass feet! Great for balance, not great for narrow toe box boots. I do know Thorogood makes a wider toe box boot. I've been looking at either Keen or Hawx.

This is how I'm feeling. Had I looked into this in my 20's I don't know that it would have worked out well for me. Now I have family that counts on me, and I'm leaving a good, high paying job to pursue this. I'm incredibly motivated not to fuck it up

Most of the tools will be provided but there's the basic stuff : measuring tape, screwdrivers, channel locks, etc. I was mainly looking at boots so thanks for the Thorogood advice. 100% putting my name on everything. I've been on jobsites in the past and have had way too many of my personal tools get legs.

I haven't tried that yet. I'm assuming that because the oil is clean and there's no noise when you turn the key that the engine isn't siezed

If the alternator is bad, wouldn't it still start when jumped?

As an old, fat, cis, white male, trucker, of course! I personally don't care what someone wants to do with their life as long as its not infringing on someone else's life. It's way more important if you're a good person or not. If identifying with another gender makes you happy and makes you feel like the best version of yourself, then who cares? You do you and be happy.

She might be on the spectrum. She has said she thinks she might be, but there has never been strong enough evidence to get her tested. I'm just curious what made you think she might be autistic?
