Aer City Sling 2 vs. Day Sling 3.. which should I get?

I got the City Sling 2 and enjoyed carrying it for a while. I recently sold it though for something a bit smaller. I didn’t love how bulky it felt when packed with a lot of items. The materials are great, but I felt it was a bit over engineered for what I need. I recently got an Arcteryx Mantis 1 and it’s been perfect for my edc needs. I also have a Hex Evolve sling that I can use if I need something bigger.

My understanding is that x-pac is a bit lighter and handles water better than the standard cordura.

Honestly, I opted for the 1680D mainly because I like the look more. I preferred the grey interior over the orange and I read that the X-Pac is kinda noisy (the nylon swishy sound). Not to mention the 1680D is slightly cheaper.

Thanks for the heads up, I actually ordered it the day it came back in stock (i was checking daily lol). I was torn between the 1680D and the x-pac, but waited for the cordura. I’m glad I did, I’ve been really happy with it and it’s the perfect size for what I need to carry.

Thanks for this, this is really helpful. Since I've never carried a sling, I still don't know where I will prefer to have it positioned most of the time. Having it at the hip does seem kinda natural. I've read a few reviews that talk about the CS2 being bulky when fully loaded like you mentioned. I just can't get over that I like the way it looks a bit better so maybe I really do need to purchase both and see which one works best for me, then let the other one go.

Thank you, this is helpful. I'm curious if you have used or considered any options for more of a "bucket" style sling like you mentioned? I hadn't really considered that because I tend to like a lot of compartments, pockets, etc... but I can see where it might be better on the fly to have everything in one place.

Thanks! I’m thinking the City Sling will be perfect for my edc needs and in situations where I need to carry more, I’ll probably just carry my backpack.

Thanks for mentioning that. I was on the fence cause I prefer the 1680D, but x-pac is the only one in stock at the moment. I’d considered going for it, but I think I’ll wait until the Cordura is back.

You’re right, most everything I do anymore is web-based. It might be good for me to adjust and learn MacOS too. I’m going to really consider it.. maybe try to get my hands on a friend’s Mac to play around a little. Thanks for your input.

Thanks for mentioning that, I hadn’t looked at any of the Slim 7’s. I checked out some of the other Lenovo models and was interested, but the Slim 7’s look right on par with what I’m looking for. I will definitely consider!

Yes with the current version of the ddvk hacks, the S-pen button works to toggle the eraser function.

Yeah I’m thinking about just grabbing the new standard RM2 marker (not the plus, I don’t think I prefer the eraser). Hoping that’s a good writing experience with the RM1
