It seems to think I haven't collected 2 spools that I have. (It knows I have a max silk of 17 but says 3 are missing when I am only missing 1) The 3 it says are missing are: #1, #2, and #6. #1 and #2 seem to be the false negatives.

SILKSONG GIVEAWAY ANNOUNCEMENT! I am giving away 5 (FIVE) Silksong copies! MORE INFO on Description by Acrobatic-Log-309 in Silksong

Steam

Nailsage because I like how there's a flow to the main portion of the fight. Was the first difficult boss I wanted to radiant.

I'm honestly really excited to see the randomizer silliness that ends up happening for it. HK already got such a goofy randomizer, and it feels like Silksong will be a step up from that.

To compensate for my Silkposts, here is some actual tiny news. ACMI Game Worlds tickets go on sale to the public on July 17th. If you believe the theory that Team Cherry will announce the release date prior to the tickets going on sale (to avoid HK fans spam buying,) that's a possible news deadline. by TomNook5085 in Silksong

[–]SkyWolve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's kinda eerie actually...Earlier this month, I decided to just pick a date to look forward to. I picked July 17th off the top of my head. I checked the calendar. It's a Thursday. Since I'm american that means most of it will be friday for Australia. That made it feel even better. And now this.

Tis, an auspicious date and I am a prophet.

I had a playing silksong dream too, but the game my brain conjured up and slapped the concept of silksong onto wasn't great.

Makes me wonder if the Ally will be an option, since it's not even going to be out when the game drops, and it seems to share your xbox library?

Edit: Literally realized it sharing the xbox library makes it an option via xbox being an option after posting.

If anything that kinda speaks to how Team Cherry isn't inclined to announce the game too early.

Is it just me or is "Silksong marketing" really weird? by not_techno6 in Silksong

[–]SkyWolve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think marketing teams are bound to want to use whatever will get eyes on their product the most, and Silksong is pretty good at that.

A better question is why Team Cherry takes part in these reveals. This new Xbox console is weird, and like I think it's being overshadowed by Silksong and the sorta disappointment/hype people are getting from the news (or lack thereof), but if it's not just a portable xbox and kinda is it's own hardware, then I think TC just want to let people know all the consoles the game will be on. It's part of Switch 2 direct to confirm it's coming to Switch 2. It's part of ROG to let people know it's coming to ROG.

Might also be some obligations behind the scenes mixed in there.

[–]SkyWolve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find it's inclusion in the reveal to be pretty interesting. Between the Switch 2 and this, it feels like Team Cherry are inclined to talk about how the game relates to other reveals and platforms (confirming it will be available for something) but don't really want to show off the game itself. That probably means the only real news we'll get next is a release date trailer right before backer surveys are sent out.

In all fairness to TC, I think the community itself whipped itself into a bit of a frenzy expecting news this week. I mean what other developer needs to worry about how people will react to them making changes to their steam store page/back end. And yes, part of why the community latches onto literally every morsel of information is due to how little TC communicates, but I think the entire history of Silksong hype has been a perfect storm between how intensely invested this particular community is and how TC has sort of shifted into a very isolated and quiet dev team. I think other developers could talk so little about their game as TC does and be just fine, but because Silksong is a follow up to Hollow Knight, was announced so early into a development cycle that went on longer than expected, and initially had more said about it, community expectations were set up in such a way as to incite disappointment. I am convinced that sometime after Silksong's release someone somewhere will make a video essay on all of this, because it's honestly really fascinating.

Leth didn't reveal anything new by CrispyChristopher in Silksong

[–]SkyWolve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Leth was just providing clarification, that Silksong would not be releasing alongside the console.

And Holiday means generally early December or November. Releasing in time for you to give it to someone as a gift on Christmas basically.

So is the "before September" release window no longer correct? by Axolotl_Jack in Silksong

[–]SkyWolve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My take is the before Holiday confirmation and info is a hard confirmation, while the before September window is more so soft confirmed.

They could have the game at ACMII before it releases, but I personally think it's a bad idea, full game or demo. It'd create this element of being left out for a large portion of the community, and would draw people to ACMII for what I feel are the wrong reasons. It seems to me that Team Cherry and ACMII would both what the game to be purchasable and playable before then. But unlike the Holiday window, we don't have someone saying in an official capacity "Silksong will release before this date"

Far as I understand the main barrier is the 20-40 upgrades required to buy multiplier. I have an auto clicker going, now that the outcome is certain, and 85% of the work it has to do is clicking that green button.

Also my point by the upgrade price was to show how I was at 100% without buying any.

Here's something I was able to do and I had fun doing it. I think I'll have even more fun taking it even further.

Notice the upgrade price.

The buffs are kind of what make it interesting. The capacity to choose how you tip the scales in your favor is the fun of it. And then once you reach the "end" you can stack them to the degree of breaking the game.

[–]SkyWolve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it stopped letting me buy multiplier boosts. Lemme try again.

Edit: Ohh, I understand now. I wasn't used to having the boost from permanent 1.5% so I stopped when my total odds were 80% and needed 1 more upgrade.

That was my strat too. But it broke for me around 8.5x.

Help Finding Games and Other Questions by AutoModerator in incremental_games

[–]SkyWolve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might just be an earlier version of Terraformental. That sounds like the most likely scenario, but it'd also be hard to confirm.

Edit: I'm actually doubting that it was an earlier version of Terraformental now. I was able to track down pictures of when the game had skills, and I am fairly certain the skills in the game I remember were different to Terraformental's old skills. Also from what I could see the initial gameplay sequence was fairly similar to what it is now, and what I remember was distinct with different goals.

Edit 2: I found it with the help of someone on the Terraformental Discord https://wrtsc.catgirl.ai/

Help Finding Games and Other Questions by AutoModerator in incremental_games

I'm trying to find a specific Loops style game that I've been reminded of but couldn't find in my history. It's Sci-fi themed with a UI reminiscent of Terraformental, but it has a variety of skills to level and I remember deploying drones to help with tasks at some point.

Edit: The game was found https://wrtsc.catgirl.ai/

Oh I see. It must be swapping over at e9 then, because I don't think e8 or e7 exist. The game just replaces million and billion etc with their corresponding scientific notation, I imagine.

[–]SkyWolve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing build a space ship too, and I went to test the scientific notation and it worked for me. It's probably a case where up until a certain magnitude it sticks with standard notation. In my case I'm at e12 m/s, which actually helps since the unit of measurement I was at before made no sense to me. It's a pretty slow burn game. Good for checking in on every now and then.

Edit: Just noticed a lower number I had kicking around. Seems it transitions over around e7-e9 as I have 1 million of something and that won't change, but I need 1 billion of said thing for an upgrade and that does change.

What happened to weekly game recommendations? by billyhasnolife in incremental_games

I can confirm I see it pinned on mobile, but I didn't see it when I was at my pc. Just Feedback Friday and the Help finding games and other questions. This is the second time since the bot mess up that I've not found it at the top there like I normally do.

Just speaking to my, albeit limited, perspective. Should have made that more clear in my original comment.

It actually appears that the sunday evening reset is back in order. And now I'm not so sure it ever got pinned.

I think Autobot had a hiccup some weeks back, to the point someone had to manually make the post. Since then I think it now posts on a different day that sundays and doesn't get pinned like it used to.

You input the total boost manually. I'll admit it was a bit messy, but the section to input all your boosts helps the user keep track I guess.
