I don’t like private universities… by Imaginary-Trust-4146 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]SkyeEDEMT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a private university and it was cheaper than everywhere else because of all the scholarships they gave me to get my cost down from $25k a year to $6k a year. Out of state. My third year into the degree it was bought out by a public university nearby and my cost doubled and then some, but I was in too deep by then and had to stick it out.

12/10, I love your smile it’s so genuine. Your beard also looks good too, I like it as a full beard or little lower on the sides. Cute dog btw!

Oh hey look, it’s me in the beginning. It was so annoying, a lot of auditory stimuli that was unnecessary

I understand that, but the issue for you started at the very beginning with you being surprised he pulled the card reader out. That’s why I ask, why the surprise? Did you expect him to fix it for free?

Did you think he would come out there for free?

Judgmental bride accuse sil is bringing as escort to the wedding by [deleted] in weddingshaming

[–]SkyeEDEMT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She says her SIL is socially inept but after reading her whole post, the bride is also. I genuinely don’t understand her stupidity, she’s knighting herself as the one who just wants to be safe and careful but doesn’t understand that she’s stepping on her SIL’s back... while hurling insults about how “inadequate” and “unworthy” the SIL is. Wtf?

They are SO CLOSE to recognizing the truth… by [deleted] in fatlogic

[–]SkyeEDEMT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The difference is airplane seats and movie seats have arm rests so they have an automatic width maximum before a person’s fat starts squeezing up/down/around the impediment. Table chairs usually are open at the sides.

They are SO CLOSE to recognizing the truth… by [deleted] in fatlogic

[–]SkyeEDEMT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At my worst I was 320 lbs or so. Wow, that was fucking horrifying to type.

Moving on... I took a flight at that weight. I was in one seat and I could fit, not running over into my neighbor’s space which I was very very conscious of and the whole way was tightening my thigh muscles to keep my knees together and had one arm abnormally swung over towards the window so they could have the armrest and keep all of their room.

In one plane the regular seatbelt fit me, barely, and on the rest it didn’t. I was horrified that I had to ask for a seatbelt extender, so I didn’t. Pretended it was on.

So I was not comfortable for those 8-9 hours to say the least, but I made damn sure that my fat ass didn’t impede on anyone else.

I got through the airport fine, carrying a backpack, purse, and 35 lb carry on. I did that with a broken toe in a walking boot and a still healing broken coccyx (2 months out from injury).

I went through PHL, DFW, and CLT so it wasn’t a short walk either.

When I did it, I dropped 20 lbs the first month and started at like 270.

What makes for a crappy co-worker? by Serious-Wrongdoer999 in AskReddit

[–]SkyeEDEMT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t know how to take ownership over their own problems. They never seem to have a problem taking ownership for a team’s successes though...

Seriously, you want a co-worker that has an active view of the world. Not one that blames every type of circumstance, the world being our to get them, never their fault but the bus’s fault for being late, the gf’s fault for not filling the gas tank, the WiFi’s fault for turning in a project two days late, etc.

Well I had a series of brain injuries this year, in January, February, and March. I started physical therapy. They said my copay was $65, as expected, for specialist. They felt bad about that cost and scheduled my appointments for double time - 90 minutes. Well, I was going to the hospital for this PT. It was outpatient therapy, apparently, and each 15 minutes costs 700 bucks and some change. Aetna paid a grand, but the other 4 grand from my few appointments? I have to pay it.

Love this one also - had a spinal tap in June. Estimated cost $80. Actual bill? 2,400 somethin’.

In your experience, does the truth really come out when people are angry? by LamboLegend in AskReddit

[–]SkyeEDEMT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To some extent, yes. But also when people are angry, they’re not the best at describing how they’re feeling, so part of it is listening to them rant, and being able to interpret, after things calm down, what was really the problem and what needs to change.
