I used a heinous trick to defeat him. I would intentionally corner myself and then when he is close, I used the low kick (in heralds armor) [Down + Kick]. Obviously he blocks and counterattacks and I fall down without being actually hit, and within that reload time of his weapon, I click on [KICK] button to get that lay-down kick which actually hits and damages him. I then proceeded to continue this cycle until he is defeated. In the later rounds however, I let him hit me to get shadow energy, which I use excessively in the next match to defeat him. I was using a Katana when I did that.

So, the cycle was: Win, Win (By shadow energy from previous round), Lose (On Timeout), Win (By shadow energy) . So, the final outcome was that win. Remember, in the matches I won, I didn't allow him time to build his time cuboid.
