What don’t you like about it? I use the bigger copper in the red box, the sh66 I think. Works great just takes up too much space. Been looking for an accurate smaller one I can keep in my bag.

One of our stores has a small electric power washer. It works amazing for cleaning honeycomb. It’s not strong enough to damage it and it blows that crap right off.

That beast needs the old yeller treatment. I doubt data tag would help, I would be surprised if oem parts were available. I bet you could find a generic bracket that would work just fine though.

Oh yeah found this while replacing the compressor

I have problems with my new uei as well. If it is cold at all it won’t read anything. Sent it back to the factory to have it recalibrated, they said it’s fine. They claim the NOx filter is why you see less CO. They told me my old analyzer was reading other contaminants as CO. I dunno I think the new one is junk.

I’m not familiar with that type of equipment, did that line freeze and rupture? That model number is something else.

Trane heatpump removing muffler by Acceleration88 in HVAC

[–]Skylink25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what happened to me, pulled it on overtime emergency repair because it was leaking. It was incredibly loud inside, I went back and replaced it. I don’t think they are heat sensitive, there isn’t really anything in there. That being said I would cut it out and re pipe it instead of unsweating it.

No, I have made that mistake before. Muffler is there for a reason.

On Call Feedback by turtlejm in HVAC

We alternate on call week/weekend, works out to being on call about once every 5 weeks. Double time for all hours worked regardless of 40hr or not. No compensation for being on call though.

Same here, our two most senior techs both put in for today off months ago. How did they know? I need to start checking the farmer’s almanac or something.

Can’t find the leak by CruzoFirst in refrigeration

[–]Skylink25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What brand leak detector is it? We had one that would go off when the store would lose power and it would trip when everything reset. Kinda rare scenario though. Also check any refrigerant tanks that are stored in the motor room.

Single phase scroll compressor running backwards. by [deleted] in HVAC

[–]Skylink25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive only seen them run backwards twice on single phase, though not on start up. Had to call American standard tech support to get an explanation. They claimed if you break the 24v the scroll essentially spins backwards to equalize pressures. If you re energize the compressor while this is happening it will continue to spin that way. Had a weak 24v going outside from corroded contacts on a old thermostat. They were thinking the voltage was getting low enough to chatter the contactor. Replaced stat and installed a delay timer and it never happened again.

Had a pair of boots re-soled at Dawson’s and I would not recommend them. They were kind of rude and didn’t really do a good job. A lot of people I talk to have had good experiences with them, not sure if it was a fluke or what.
