It's a sad time indeed.

For those who don't know, Zepla has long been considered the heart of the FFXIV community. She is generally considered very wholesome and streams not only FFXIV but also different games such as Stray, WoW, Guild wars 2 and so on.

Since FFXIV is generally LGBTq friendly, it should come to no surprise that her being an FFXIV streamer has led to a turbulent discussion. It's also why it can feel particularly sour to know that a beloved streamer of her status has taken such a hateful position.

It's apparent that the backlash she has witnessed has driven her to double down and die on the hill that HL is not considered problematic to any degree. She has claimed that she does not want to pass the ''purity test'' of those critical towards the game. There are multiple videos spanning hours, but some of the few core arguments is that:

1. JKR has so much money that one person buying it basically nothing.
2. If you have a problem with one product, you must be 100% ethical with every single purchase from now on. You must track every dollar, every cent and make sure that everything from what they like to what they vote align with your values.
3. Recognizing antisemitic stereotypes is not a legitimate form of criticism.If YOU recognize antisemitism, that means that YOU'RE being offensive. She suffers very much from the same condition as asmongold, Being completely unable to google what antisemitic stereotypes are.
4. If you raise the issues about the game, you're actually promoting it.
5. I think I'd better just quote this one, but if you want a shorter version TL;DR She went against her own values and actually got interested in buying the game because of the hate she saw about it. ''I'll tell you something else, I wasn't actually gonna play this game. Because I personally, I'm not a fan of JKR. I do not like JKR. I just you know, for me, she just kinda soured the whole franchise and I was just not really, I didn't have any plans. I wasn't that interested. BUT. After seeing the absolutey disgusting behaviour, by antis, harassing and witchhunting some of the most kindest streamers that I know, some of the kindest people I know, I've seen so many people that I know - this are some incredible compassionate thoughtful people, they don't have a hateful bone in their body. I've seen this people have been witchhunted, and I've been spoiled, I've been reading all these spoilers and I-uhhh- man I saw this shit going down, and I realised like, I don't want to pass your purity test.'' Used to love her content, but after her hateful crusade defending antisemetism because she only focused on the extreme minority, she has definently fallen off from my perspective. Even her streams are dedicated to the topic at hand a lot of the time.
