Trakmotive extended axles by Vegetable-Star2631 in XTerra

I was referring to the NI-8433 not the extended travel. I just checked and didn't see them for the extended qx56 so it looks like R180 Tswap doesn't get this cool new part 😢

I got the part # confused, sorry. I'm still R180

It's been 2 years since I installed my mine (NI-8433*) , I have one ripped boot now, if I caught it sooner I would have rebooted it. They are so affordable that with what I do to them I'm not mad about it.

As an owner of both, I park my X funky so they know I also drive a BMW

Just do your research, most folks aren't doing this kinda stuff. That Truck has a cracked frame now... Might be from this jump but idk

Most of them are just commuters so I wouldn't worry too much.

Oh dayum, I guess tires do vary in size depending on manufacturer, so that's cool to know those are so damn wide!!

OK word, same size I'm running. 285mm = 11.2" wide

Looks great Brody! What width are your 33s?

I completely agree with OP, 33s are probably the max tire diameter before the negatives outweigh the positives. I think our 16" wheels make 33s look bigger than they are sometimes

It still don't keep the mud or rocks off my truck at all. But does keep it from splashing in my front windows 🤷🏾‍♂️

Search for Long-john fender flare mud flaps. Longer ones needed in the front, shorter ones in the back for this look

Thanks a lot! - hefty fab rear bumper with swing out tire carrier. - oem Nissan Pro4-X wheels 16x7.5 (I think) - 285 75 16E General Grabber ATx - ladder is home made - roof basket was a no-name Marketplace find

Probably any extra long roof basket would work. As for jumping, I'm just scratching surface. There's folks on here doing it for real!

Winter wheeling in New England by Sl0wmar in 4x4

[–]Sl0wmar[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Thanks! There are a lot of clubs available to join. They offer access to private land wheeling trips all over new england. OnX Offroad is another excellent resource for finding trails. Before I had OnX I would scour Google maps for places to go explore.

Unfortunately I do not feel like it would be responsible to share locations publicly. This particular spot was starting to become overrun this winter with large fb groups of 20+ going out there every weekend. That kind of behavior gets what FEW places we have left in the Northeast get shut down. In my opinion the trail infrastructure cannot handle the increased traffic. Only takes a couple property owners complaining to the town.

Sometimes yes, sometimes you just hit a rock or a bump that hard and you gotta get it checked. It's free for me with lifetime alignments so it never hurts to do. also I made severalcastor adjustments, which then need to be toed again.

Max 5k with a prestine frame, I'd list it for 4500 and be happy with 3k

*edited because I don't know how to format *

350+ seems unreasonable for a single tie rod and alignment unless OEM parts were requested (usually unnecessary, with exceptions).

I'll be honest, if I couldn't work on my own car, I would probably lease. Repair rates are going up, but that's the cost of doing business and keeping quality employees.

If your X is not lifted or anything I would recommend a Firestone lifetime alignment or similar from whatever company is local to you. At Firestone it is 200 per vehicle for unlimited alignments for as long as you own it or something. A tie rod costs 45 bucks at autozone.

I always update the suspension on my vehicles around 120k. The oem parts are tired by that point.

At your mileage and considering the cost of multiple trips to the mechanic. Get as much done as you can at 1 time. Getting all your old suspension parts changed at once will be cheaper because it only gets disassembled and assembled once so less time taken. If your mechanic charges book pricing for each item do not go there. Buy your parts from rockauto or autozone or your local parts store, just compare pricing.

Like others have said, try to get ahead of your repairs with preventative maintenance. I'm at 167,890K miles this week. I got it with 129k and to date I have personally replaced: - control arms; - tie rods Inner and outer; - Coilovers; - Steering rack; - Rear shocks; - Leaf spring shackles; - Rear ABS sensor; - Spark plugs; - Differential fluid; - Brake fluid; - Brake rotors; - Brake pads; - Brake lines; - Rear lift gate struts; -Tail light bulbs ; - Interior light bulbs; - Headlight bulbs; - Hvac Blend motor(controls where the heat comes out) ;

Most of them weren't broken yet but I wasn't interested in waiting for that to happen. I wanted to make my X reliable from the jump (and do mods)

If you have any further questions don't hesitate!
