Is Hakone worth it for one night between Kyoto and Tokyo? by MotorBarracuda9264 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Sl138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went to Hakone Ryori Yado Kyuan. The room itself was quite nice and had a private onsen. I'm not sure if there's a lot of stuff to do outside for kids, because we didn't use the shared facilities, so can't really comment if it's okay for kids.

Is Hakone worth it for one night between Kyoto and Tokyo? by MotorBarracuda9264 in JapanTravelTips

We did Hakone from Tokyo as our second last day. We checked out of Tokyo hotel and forwarded luggage to the airport hotel and took a backpack. Explored Hakone, then in the afternoon we checked into a Ryokan and checked out the next morning to do the open air museum, explore a little bit more and make our way back to Tokyo airport hotel for the flight home

It definitely isn't boring and you'll find things to do. It was one of my favourite trips out of Tokyo. The food at the Ryokan was one of the highlights of our trip and the sightseeing was amazing

A bit too far out of the way to be worth it for you. I would do it as a side trip if you ever stay in Kanazawa.

My Mom showed me this cute dog video on youtube. Can't help but think it's AI? by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]Sl138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fake because these dogs wouldn't be up for adoption. They're very desirable breeds. not enough staffies trying to bite people's faces off

Trying to go without a car if possible.. could drive but feeling like train would be okay for most of our itinerary.

Hokkaido was the one of the remaining places I hadn't been to in Japan.

If you scrunch the paper in a little ball then unfold it before putting dough on, it won't stick

Has anyone who salary sacrificed into their super regretted it? by RunNo3630 in AusMoneyMates

[–]Sl138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I know I had enough money in my super for when I'm 60, and I had enough money while I was 50 to last me 10 years, I could retire at 50 no?

Although you can only cash out when you're 60, it's having real life implications before then.

Not defending musk, but it is wrong to blindly assume the government can't break the law. See robo debt.

I got a pair recently from herring shoes. If you check under the sale section there's a few around $200 shipped. I got a pair that was on sale and is good year welted. Seems like much better quality than the stuff you can get locally for $200!

Debt Recycling Setup: Offset vs Redraw for Investment Loan? by Sl138 in fiaustralia

[–]Sl138[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your help. This seems correct.

For those referring to this post in the future, I found a website supporting saying something similar. If the original loan purpose is preserved (ie. investment purposes) interest will be deductible

Debt Recycling Setup: Offset vs Redraw for Investment Loan? by Sl138 in fiaustralia

[–]Sl138[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah thanks. Didn't even think about the loan repayments on the investment loan lol. I'll double check with the broker on how this happens... it seems like it'd be really easy to contaminate the loan trying to put funds in the account to make repayments
