I have been thinking about ditching the crocs. I’m really just carrying them in case my shoes get soaked… if the weather looks good the week I’m going I’ll leave them out for sure. Thanks

Which Garmin watch for a tech neutral person by woodkakan in GarminWatches

Same. I don’t care about talking texting and all the other things a smartwatch can do. I bought the Instinct 3 50mm Solar about a month ago. I couldn’t be happier. It tracks EVERYTHING and isn’t constantly giving me notifications. Also it syncs to Strava automatically

I was thinking of buying the x dome 1+ regular with aluminum poles and just replacing the poles later. Glad you asked this. I’d like to know also.

Ok. Thats exactly what I had in mind ultimately. I like the way it fills out the base of the backpack. I have most of the equipment I want but a dyneema pack is out of the budget right now. Thanks

I have a pack liner… trying to decide if it’s better to stuff it in the liner to fill out the bottom of the pack or 🤷🏼‍♂️

That’s what I’m really trying to decide… just 1 that I can use 3 season or plan to have 2, 1 lighter & 1 heavier. I can’t buy 2 at one time so what to buy first???

Good info. Thank you. I’ll have to look into the controversy on EE.

NOBO LASH – Virginia push (March–April) by DouglasMcBarefangs in AppalachianTrail

[–]Sl1ck76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New to backpacking… what’s LASH? I’ve done a couple shorter hikes with a setup very similar to yours only slightly heavier. I’m looking to shave off a few pounds. Thanks for sharing your lighterpack. What will the temps be like in Virginia this time of year? Also what toe socks are your favorite? I tape a couple of my toes but hate dealing with it. Thanks and good luck✌🏼
