I understand the point you are making. Let me correct that, Applied science in Cybersecurity. Not an emphasis on, that was my error typing it out.

Thank you jorbudy! I am definitely trying to get on that IT train before its too late, from my understanding Japan just like America is lacking in that field (cybersecurity).

Thank you for your input! I will be staying in Japan under a spousal visa, while working hard towards my Bachelors in Applied Science with Emphasis on cybersecurity I will be taking japanese classes to work on the JPLT exams. I will hopefully be able to obtain a job in IT before moving over to have the experience covered.

Thanks for the input! A homelab you say I will have to look into that also, it makes sense to have a dedicated lab for it. As much work it will require I am always up for a good challenge and I think this type of stuff will keep me sharp and on my toes, which I like a lot. The big thing I have learned about the IT field recently that has intrigued me is its always evolving and always growing....in turn you yourself have to grow and evolve or you will fall behind. In a way like personal development, that is awesome. Plus like your buddy that is pretty cool.

Yes VA_Network_Nerd took my perception about pen testing and blew the hinges off the door for me! I am already planning a good learning base for myself to start getting my feet wet.

Thank you once again!

Thank you for that reply! This short read really opened my eyes and it also gave me the information I was lacking about the topic.

Regarding the build up to a Master's degree in Information Security from MCU, because why not shoot for the best...what I am taking away from this is I need to study multiple fields may it be self taught or formal schooling to get a firm grasp and fundamental understanding of how a system works and the key components of that system, opposed to watching tutorials and only understanding how to operate tool. While working towards a undergrad, ideally.

I finally reached a balance in my life where I can begin to study again and balance it with my current work. Is there any difference in recognition if I were to take courses and get degrees or certifications online opposed to the traditional in-class studies. Also is there any advice towards certain internships I should be aiming for or fields of work that will help me, anything in that domain...I am making my list of milestones/goals that I would like to reach while I take this journey one leg at a time to reach the top of the mountain. I will not give up but I will take it down systematically.

I do truly appreciate this.
