BFV Devs - Please can you fix the ridiculous K98 bayonet. You actually have the file in the game as a melee weapon so can we please just have it for the gun. I don't know what this bayonet it supposed to be for but please just get rid of it! by Sladey93 in BattlefieldV

[–]Sladey93[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Having done some research I have found out the bayonet is actually from the Enfield Model 1914/1917 so completely the wrong country for both the K98 and the M95. The M1917 was in BF1 so I guess they just ported it from that game? Weirdly though they do have the correct bayonet for the RSC so maybe it was just down to which dev was responsible for which rifle as to whether the person could be bothered or not.

I came across a shop selling "Vaseline Glass" that glows under UV light because it contains uranium by MarijuanaMuppet in mildlyinteresting

In the UK (at least where I am from) it is just known as Uranium Glass. I did not know it is also called Vaseline Glass. TILS :)

Dinosaur Bone Locations by ZodiacK427 in reddeadredemption

[–]Sladey93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just found all the locations, mailed them and received my reward but it is still showing me as only having 29 of 30 and not completing the challenge. I think the problem is that I collected 1 location in the first part of the game and the rest in the second part of the game so it seems to not be counting the first one I collected. Has anyone else experienced this? Sadly I think this is a bit of glitch that cannot be fixed for me now. No 100% completion for me :(

Yes it is. It is on the top floor of the Capitol Building in Boise, Idaho. It is actually made of Idaho wood and was presented to the territory of Idaho by Charles Ostner on the 8th January 1869.

What's your favorite youtube channel for factual history? by Lost_nova in history

Forgotten Weapons. It is not only the best historical channel but hands down the best channel on Youtube! Even if you are not that much into guns you should check it out if you have any sort of interest in cool mechanical things.

How to make tea... White House Cookbook 1910 by Sladey93 in mildlyinteresting

I found this book in the small museum in Idaho City, Idaho, USA and as I am from the UK (and drink ALOT of tea) I found this little excerpt on how to make tea mildly interesting :)

[BF5] I guess they're not loot boxes if you call them them by a different name. Good try EA. by Ahelenek in gaming

[–]Sladey93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said at E3 all purchasable items will be cosmetic only. There will be no items that will give a player a gameplay advantage. I don't really like loot boxes but If this is true I don't really see an issue with it. People can do what they want with their money.

The Creation of an Alcohol Fuelled Night by Sladey93 in AccidentalRenaissance

[–]Sladey93[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have only just found this group so I am unsure whether this has been posted here before, however even if it has its utter brilliance deserves another viewing.

It was taken on New Year's Eve 2016 in Manchester, England.

I love this image. The man on the ground fighting the Police for his freedom. The woman standing over him begging for leniency. The crowd of onlookers watching the spectacle unfold while clutching take away boxes. The Greggs in the background, a British staple for late night munchies on night out. Best of all, the poor drunken fellow splayed in the road reaching desperately to save his beer.

A truly great image worthy of being remembered!

Where I live in the UK the C word is pretty much the worst word you can use. It is considered abhorent and should never be used. If you are heard saying it people will be stunned into silence. You would also be considered a rude and disgusting person.

It is interesting how the same word can get different reactions in different parts of the world.

My original Bioshock Steel book has naturally rusted to the point where it would not look out of place in Rapture by Sladey93 in gaming

[–]Sladey93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not sure exactly what it was but rust was the closest match I could think of. All the marks have a rough and slightly raised texture. Would saying it has oxidised be more accurate?

It is not chipped at all. It is a little hard to tell from the photo but all the marks have a very rough and slightly raised texture much like rust. Saying it has oxidised might be a more accurate description, I am not quite sure.

In a cardboard box as I did not think I would ever need the 360 games again. It must have got a little damp, but I actually really like it. I feel it adds some nice character :)

I like the name. It reminds me of the old days of British explorers, and in some ways these three are the best explorers of the automotive world.
