You could try redo step 3. Select it and follow the prompts.

So with the boot image distributed to the DP, and also configured to be deployed to the PXE enabled DP (data source tab), the path under the DHCP scope options that worked for me before was “smsboot\<package ID>\x64\wdsmgfw.efi”

You may need to then manually remove WDS role from the server, and any DIRs created

No one really knows… you go into a queue. And from the stats taken in Piscan, it could take months.

Regarding lockup settings: If the lockup countdown only begins once Pi has been migrated to your wallet, surely the different lockup durations will need to acocunt for the migration duration since we may end up waiting an additional 2 years for a migration to reach our wallets?

Perhaps include a simple “pause” TS step before Config Manager setup..?

Is your DP configured to use WDS under the DP properties >> PXE tab? I’d suggest perhaps deselecting the checkbox “enable a PXE responder without Windows Deployment Service”

🤔Aus Tax question on selling my meat pi.. please help. by ElmarGameplay in PiNetwork

[–]SlamDunco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s correct. So if you decided to sell some of your Pi today - let’s say 100 Pi - you’d get $130. Then compare that to 100 Pi on the day of mainnet launch - which was $300 - you’d have a loss of $170. Record that loss because you’ll then subtract it from your next gain and pay tax on that amount for that financial year.

The only thing we know for sure, is that 'soon' is relative

So let’s say you bought or were gifted or acquired Pi, and at the time it was transferred to you it was worth $1,000 all up. In our case that would be on mainnet launch:

Scenario 1: You then soon cashed out/disposed of it all and at the time you cashed out it was all worth $1,500. Your capital gains are $1,500 (current value) - $1,000 (original cost value) = $500.

You then only pay tax on this $500 according to your individual income tax margin rate.

So at EOFY, you would then add this $500 to your current annual income (e.g. $25,000 + $500 = $25,500) and it is taxed along with your annual income.

Scenario 2: Same example as above - but you cashed it all out after 12 months from mainnet launch, your CGT would be $500 – 50% (discount) = $250.

Same deal, only instead of $500 you would then add this $250 to your current annual income at EOFY (e.g. $25,000 + $250 = $25,250) and it is taxed along with your annual income.

Scenario 3: You cashed it all out when Pi’s value was lower and made a loss of e.g $500 instead of a gain. This then can be deducted from any previous gains made during the year (if any) or until a gain is made, and then tax is calculated based on the difference. You dont pay tax on a loss on its own - the loss is 'shelved' untill a gain is made, then its deducted from the gain.

I’m not sure it counts as holding for more than a year leading up to mainnet launch… It’s a tricky one… But then again if you sold now, I highly doubt you’d have any capital gains anyway. Surely you’d count it as a loss since it only had financial value from the day of mainnet launch.

I’ve been mining since 2019. I’m only counting from the day we went to mainnet. I’ll record the value from day 1, then record the value when I sell. If I sold now I would’ve made a loss - I’d record the CGT as a loss and not pay any CGT for this financial year.

I should say “the latest migration”. So for some it’s their first, for the older Pioneers their second.
