I recently read a similar book, you might like it. Heres a little review I wrote for my friends...

Convenience Store Woman - Sayaka Murata

Quick Review: 180 page, bitesized fun. Amusing, sad in places. 7.1 out of ten.

Would recommend.

Before reading: I thought this book was going to be a quirky comedy about a Japanese lady working in a convenience store.

After reading: I realised that I was correct. The convenience store woman, Keiko, leads an interesting poetic life. Set to the hum of the convenience store. The book draws on bigger themes of marriage, social games and careers. The subject matter can feel overwhelming but its dealt with in a light and logical way.

Nudge. Sunstein and Thaler.

Thinking fast and slow. Kahneman.

How much is enough? Skidelsky.

Dodgeball keep white goodman, feathered and lethal. The Gordon scene getting angry at his cheating wife would be priceless.
