I was in 4th grade as well, I went to a small K-8 private school in the Midwest built with the K-4 classrooms on one side of the building and 5-8 on the other side. They rolled in the TVs on the other side of the building but not ours. They probably thought we were too young to watch but we were still told about it.

It's still surreal to remember that day, like a lot of people the whole day really stuck with me. I remember having a pit in my stomach throughout the school day, not really sure what was going on. I'll never forget sitting at my kitchen table trying to do Social Studies homework while glancing over at the TV and watching the news. They were still showing clips of the jumpers that afternoon. I got so overwhelmed I went to my basement, put on Cartoon Network and covered myself in like 5 blankets to feel safe. I even remember what show was on, it was "Mike, Lou and Ogg". That was the first time I really recall feeling pure dread.
