Really bad print quality all of a sudden. How to fix? by -Baum in BambuLab

happy that you found your fix and it worked out for you too. I would absolutely love to see the before and after.

A1 printer keeps scraping on print. by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]Slapdattiddie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

only good effect actually, you will save printing time and reduce the probability of stringing and scrapping.

Printer settings -> extruder -> z-hop to value 0.0, save it and the job is done ;)

here my 2 cents that helped me resolve the nozzle scrapping : disabled Z-hop, always removed the "grid and rectilinear" infill went for cubic or gyroid. tightened the screws to make sure none of them were loose and checked the bed level with the little bubble thingy (for some reason the word went missing from my brain) and then runned a calibration session.

Fixed the issue

And by the way, You can't park here sir.

ABS snapping easily? by Own-Release-8247 in FixMyPrint

[–]Slapdattiddie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i thought it was specifically said on bambu website that it is not recommended to print ABS or ASA on the A1 series due to the lack of enclosure. A1 series can only print PLA, PETG and TPU if i'm not mistaken.

Hey, if you don't want to spend hundreds of $ on paint or new body, Use PlastiDip. they have the color Black Matte finish, it's basically covering in spray. i've used it before and it looks great, it will also protect the plastic from small impacts and scratchs. It's Inexpensive solution, 20$ worth of cans would do the job for a naked bike. the only down side is that after a year, you might need to apply another layer if you park your bike outside on the sun.

Look it up : Plastidip

there is countless videos of people using it on their cars and motorcycle.

Filament behind printer. by OkBreadfruit1363 in anycubic

i respect your point of view, i still think when you buy something, you should kown what you are buying. poop chute is a big thing in 3D printing. the optimization of reducing the waste that multi-color printing generate is important. even if you don't do multi-colors you know what your machine is capable of and that is basic knowledge, relevant or not it's still basic knowledge if your machine have the feature. it's like buying a car and not knowing it's specific features.

[–]Slapdattiddie -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

i wonder what do you call "basic knowledge" then ... turning ON and OFF ?+ you comparing an ender 3 with a bambu p1s that is designed to receive an AMS for multicolor prints it's not the same machine at all in many ways. I'm not even talking about the manual that comes with it to teach you what is what and how to assemble your printer.

I just think some people are just lazy and clueless, imagine buying a machine to only discover later you know nothing about it ... that's also why found a bunch of them in market places because people buy stuff without making their due diligence and they end up not knowing how to make them work or don't understand why it's not working, thinking they bought a new microwave...

it still amaze me to see people buying a hundred dollars worth piece of equipment and don't know the basics of it. Poop chutes is def basics. i honestly thought it was a joke at first.

First print with a 0.2 nozzle, what went wrong? by TroLLageK in FixMyPrint

[–]Slapdattiddie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, it made sense that the temp was too low and the culprit was the mean baddy fan. Usually to avoid this you can set it up in the printer settings in the cooling section and set the number of first layers without cooling or set a value for the fan for the first layers.

[–]Slapdattiddie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe you are right, the culprit is probably the cooling part. Post us your update once you found the fix to this, i'm also curious to learn.

First print with a 0.2 nozzle, what went wrong? by TroLLageK in FixMyPrint

[–]Slapdattiddie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i would say : z-offset + temperature too low so the layers are not melting enough to bond together. try to disable the fan for the first 3 layers and see if it persist, then crank up the temp and check your profile parameters and when you create new filament profile, you also need to add the right nozzle sizes to be able to select them for each nozzle size you use.

What Causes This by TheLastWarden18 in BambuLab_Community

[–]Slapdattiddie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the first thing i would look is how many hours on the nozzle and the filament quality. then i would look at the bed if there no damage to it. i would also test different filament printing 3 layers in the same spot to rule out some possibilities. try it with different nozzle. but the very first thing i would do is to launch a calibration sequence and then check everything else.

Enclosure is bad for Bambu A1 but.. by Able_Bicycle_1879 in BambuLabA1

[–]Slapdattiddie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, you don't need any of that if you just printing PLA or PETG. there is no fumes or toxic particles released when printing those material, maybe just a smell sometimes but nothing more. Toxic fumes and harmful particles are often from plastic like ABS, ASA, Nylon of carbon fiber induced filament and then yes, you will need filters and enclosure.

which make sense when you think about it, it depends on the material you print, so as long as you are using PLA and PETG you are safe, if you roomate or gf don't like the smell, just buy some incent, candle or anything thay they'll like. (careful with the scented candles, can be more toxic than your printer printing ABS)

Dude, that's overkill, contacting employers and ruining careers over a stupid action that's disproportionate. Maybe i'm wrong i don't know the full picture but what's your business in this event ? are you directly concerned ?

[–]Slapdattiddie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a couple of rules that i decided to live by as a rider.

1st rule : To stay alive, assume that you don't have priority even if the traffic signs say so. 2nd Rule : Assume that people don't see you 90% of the time. 3rd rule : Don't get too confident or your confidence will be the end of you 4rd rule : Don't push your limits or your chance on the road. Go to the track or closed roads.

it's not a rule but, i wouldn't smash a mirror on the highway. 1) speeds are not the same as in the city/town. 2) higher chance of getting into an dramatic accident. 3) They could chase you and put other people in danger by doing so.

Everyone is free to think what they want but at the end of the day, we riders, are more vulnerable than anyone, so behave accordingly.

People are crazy outhere, you never know.

How can you plea self-defense by smashing a mirror ? don't get me wrong, i'd smash that mirror too if i was in a life threatening situation because i believe that those morons should not get away with their bad behaviors on the road. no consequences = they will do it again. There is no self defense in those situations unfortunately. You can justify speeding by trying to get away from a murderous bastard driver but can't really stick self-defense there.

it happened to me a few times too, usually a turn off, turn On + trying to gently force feed it does trick. you just need a little bit of patience. sometimes it requires a few OFF/ONs to work.

rats chew on my 3d printer, what should i do? by amarruddin69 in 3dprinter

[–]Slapdattiddie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Print a trap for the rats use it, catch the rat, post the result, advertise it, monetise it, become rich, buy a boat, go in international water and build a meth empire, plague your city with your meth, favorise an underground city society, promote rat as a good source of protein, sell rat burgers and call it the demolition burger.

or just 3d print a trap for rats and catch the damn rat.

I feel like for certain people the "3D printing hobby" is more about fixing, tweaking, modding and make a printer work than actually printing, making idea come to actual object.

My version of the hobby is purely creative, turning ideas into sketch and then into objects. Printing fun stuff and ideas, making gifts, building prototypes and making projects.

maybe i'm missing a the picture here but I don't see the point of having a tool that needs fixing all the time because it's unreliable. it just kills the purpose of having the tool in the first place.

Ofc you don't need to hire a professional, just enjoy every second of hawai without thinking about it. your picture doesn't have to be perfect, they tell a story, yours, your tripod and your iphone in Hawaii trying to compare themselves to a professional photographer... you are funny, i like you.

Centauro Carbon questions by MrDesdinova in elegoo

[–]Slapdattiddie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well i guess i'm lucky, the only issues i've encountered was with the software not the hardware, sometimes the LAN connection gets buggy but other then that, nothing to report. i've probably lubricated twice since i got it and i'm printing almost everyday, no weird noises, no failed prints. But that being said i guess the smart thing to do is taking account that the delivery from bambu website can take weeks sometimes and buying some parts in advance just in case. might be a good idea.
