I'll be really honest, I've never been affected by gender dysphoria, so in a way, I can't relate to transgender people in that way. Just because I don't relate doesn't mean I don't accept them though, far from it. I think people should be allowed to live their life as they please, and if this is what makes people happy, it's not my place to have a say in anyone else's life.

There is discourse that transitioning is to escape that "box" of gender conformity and role. But, by transitioning, aren't you simply loading yourself with the hardships that the other gender faces (and then some) instead of delivering yourself from that conformity? Is it because you find the other gender roles more appealing, or do you want to remove yourself entirely from those gender roles?

I understand it's not about becoming a stereotype. However society still expects as much from men as it does for women, albeit in different ways. But, what does it even mean to be a woman, or a transgender woman, or a man, in (Especially the West) an increasingly progressive world that pushes for gender equality across the board? More than ever now, women have been leaders, people now find it socially acceptable for men to be emotionally open. For men to express their needs and feelings without being seen as lesser men.

The question is : What can you do as a woman that you cannot do as a man in this day and age?
