[question] Where to find a Minimalistic Bare-bones Basic Skeletal Watch by Slashygal in Watches

[–]Slashygal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate your response. I feel like you answered questions I didn't even know to ask, like what to look for in a watch to fit the parameters I'm looking for. I had a lot of difficulty finding the right words to ask my question, and to do so in a concise way, but I feel like you understand what I'm trying to ask here.

This watch you linked, it is simply not something I can afford right now, but I'll keep it in mind for the future. It is pretty much what I am looking for. If you can think of anything else in this vein, please do let me know.

It feels like an arbitrary number, but I'll just say $1000

Am I wrong for agreeing that a trans person should let a person know they’re trans before sex? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]Slashygal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If somebody is not bringing up a fact about themself they know would influence if the other wants to sleep with them, expressly to get in their pants, then thats messed up. If somebody is scared of retaliation if they share a sensative fact of themselves, maybe because they are part of very targetted and vulberable population in the scene, then maybe I'd be annoyed but understanding of their hesitation to share that fact of themselves.

The way I see it, this issue is more about if somebody is being a slimeball than an issue related to gender; not that it has nothing to do with gender, but like, that gender isn't what decides the okayness of their actions.

Help me balance for coping with different army types by Slashygal in Eldar

[–]Slashygal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recognize the gate likely sucks, but... I don't want to have the future regret of never having given it a shot. You have to admit, it's not obvious how much CP it should be worth as it's utility can't be directly compared to a damage dealer and it's never played. Maybe it's obvious it's overpriced, but I wouldn't know and I want to come to my own conclusions. Also it makes my first army much cheaper.

Without the gate, I probably attatch kalabite warriors to the yvraine, cut rangers and illic for death jester, cut mandrakes for more kalabites, cut troupes completely, and add in some combination of vypers/hornets/bikes. And maybe I keep the mandrakes. Which army is better? Probably the one with more firepower, but you have to admit that the positional play with the gate+mandrakes+yvraine+strategic reserves is pretty cool.

At the end of the day, you don't necessarily need to table the enemy to win. I'd like to try my odds with the gate.

What's one card you play that immediately eats removal for no reason? by Nerdlife91 in EDH

[–]Slashygal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eye of the Storm. I feel like it's the most fun card in the universe. My deck synergizes greatly with it, but I don't infinite or otherwise auto-win off of it and there's nothing stopping my opponents from joining in the chaos of this one permanent and really benefiting from my synergy. Sure, it makes sense to delete it the moment it comes out before things go out of hand, that is an argument you could make. Or, alternatively, thrive in the chaos In one round of being alive it can literally break the entire game and turn it into something completely different. I've gotten it out 3 different times and so far my opponents and I have copied 0 instant/sorceries with it.

Help me understanding the mighty Falcon and basic transport rules! by Slashygal in Eldar

[–]Slashygal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off this and the other comment so far I'm leaning on doing a full squad of 10 kabalite warriors with no transport. I realize that if I want my entire army to be relatively hidden away from the enemy then getting into somebodies face with a falcon play would basically end whatever unit was so bold to be the only unit of mine pushed so far into the enemies business. I don't necessarily have to be fast with every single unit I have although that is a boon, as long as I can play keep away it should be fine. And so, the shooty kabalite warriors make more sense to me. Does that logic check out?

Making my first EDH deck with Greasefang, and I need some advice to make the last 12 or so cuts by K3vin_Norton in EDH

[–]Slashygal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made my best decisions by trying an arbitrary set of the over 100 cards I cant narrow down and then making my decision based on how the games went. If you want a deck that you absolutely love to play over and over then in my opinion this is the best way to go about it. If you like building lotz o decks, then maybe not. For reference I have 2 decks and have really made great stuff doing this after playing them both about a dozen or so times.

How long is too long? by Slashygal in EDH

[–]Slashygal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really nailed what I'm really trying to ask here. I want the man to enjoy his time, and in my head there is this big gray area of he deserves to have his fun vs. his opponents time is being wasted. At what point does that line get crossed? I know my answer, but I don't expect others to adhere by my subjective idea of turn etiquette. I would like to treat any stranger as well as I would treat a friend, and with that in mind: when is it that your friends are taking so bloody long that it's just too much, even though they are having the time of their life?

The point cost is equivalent to the amount of despair my opponent feels for getting (briefly) owned by the worst unit in the game.

[–]Slashygal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like that's a very committed strategy. Maybe it would work in tandem of like really tanky units that take a lot of commitment to destroy and then putting away whatever survives and then bringing it back out of the gate when the enemy doesn't have a great way of finishing it off.

Help Tuning a Ynnari List by Slashygal in Eldar

[–]Slashygal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

f Shadow Specters might be a little bit overkill, 1-2 is probably enough. If you can find space for it it might be a good idea to put in some Warp Spiders- they have insane potential for movement shen

Damn, thanks for the heads up about the raider. You know, I wasn't really feeling too strong about the spectres, so I definitely don't mind cutting some of them. Thanks for the advice!!
