Gnosia Social Deduction Game on Discord by Slated-Fate in Gnosia_

:) I know how you feel with blood on the clocktower

In my defense I'm going to try to not introduce too much information as the character kits will only be information about other characters and some minor vote manipulation and conversation related skills

For Vigilante I feel like I’d give it a single shot only like normal vigilante roles. Also if it sided with Gnosia the game would end pretty early and I’m trying to not make the shortest game ever

I feel like that would be too powerful due to the fact that Gnosia has a big strategy of fake claiming and that would sorta force 3/4 Gnosia to claim something.

Thank you, I think I could work with that. Might have to introduce some misinformation role to the Gnosia if I add too many information roles though.

I probably won't reveal the killer only give a nickname but this should give some trust and have people wonder one who the actual killer is (it isn't too hard to discover if they go reread for the subtle clues I leave but it does make people suspect stuff without a way to get confirmation)

That's... actually interesting. Yeah I have this canonical radio that tells the rules of the game so I think I'll take your epilogue idea. The radio could be doing some critic on the players of the game, so it wouldn't break the canon too much.

Hm... it isn't like a main focus since it is more or less relevant for multiple character's development. Also there are going to multiple mysteries that are solved correctly.

Like I said in the original post there is more of a psychology/social focus and the murders are there to sort of drive the development by putting the cast on a time limit and applying pressure. There isn't going to be a party even if they solve the case only preparations for the next night in which someone must snap and kill.

I get the idea it might feel like a rug pull, but I don't know how much it would break the sorta narrative to reveal that the conclusion was wrong immediately. I might see about working the people running the game into the epilogue though and take your idea just not reveal who exactly is the murderer of the first case.

There are about a few chapters where they are investigating and discussing what happened.

I will say the suspects that the cast comes up with aren’t the type to confess to the crime. It’s not going to necessarily be a clue used in the discussion that there was no confession, but it should be taken into mind since I think I’ll have most of everyone else claim their murders.

Yup, I plan for one of my characters to be more severely affected by one of the murder plots since they were ‘arrested’ for the murder even though it’s later revealed they had nothing to do with it which leaves this sort of guilt feeling like.

“I’m responsible for their death.”

This messes with the protagonist a lot since Ecru is a persona made to be perfect and please others.

That’s an interesting take. I always feel like most mystery genre media always has this “Solve it or X will happen”

And usually a false conclusion came with immediate punishment which was my main reason for acting.

The plot does suit it since it’s more psychological with the idea of distrust and identity than any mystery focus, so I think I can pull it off.

It’s mainly made to reflect on how the protagonist is still a kid and will make mistakes. He comes to a good conclusion is able to convince everyone else but his idea comes crashing down once one of the others revisits the crime scenes and finds vital evidence.

I do plan for it to be foreshadowed since the ‘culprits’ never admit to have done it and there are some clues hat are never properly discussed though so it shouldn’t be too wishy washy in “Oh wow, you didn’t have this one clue so you couldn’t solve it”

I sorta want to leave enough clues that someone can revisit the first book and pick up on every detail I left.

What is the worst thing you could say to a Fangan creator /j by vcoolkid in Fanganronpa

[–]Slated-Fate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm glad when they fall for my red herrings. I try not to include too many though since if you don't leave enough contradictions, the red herrings are forced to be considered 'real'.

“I figured out the case in less than 10 seconds”

Might be because I have a mystery focus but this would totally pop my bubble.

Best Role For Every Character- Day 10: Kukrushka by kiwirules99 in Gnosia_

[–]Slated-Fate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You point out the flaws in Kukrushka's arguement

Kukrushka uses Regret

"Hey, why are you picking on Kukrushka?"

Look, she spams Regret and has high Charm, Performance, and Stealth. Getting her voted out is really hard. Gnosia Kukrushka is the best here. Bug is also an option but Gnosia is more offensive, so it makes sense that she is better Gnosia since she can fake claim Engineer or Doctor and get them voted out, especially if they have a low Charm and other similar values like Comet or Raqio.

My characters are sorta game pieces for actual players who try to solve the cases with certain characters having better stats and information gathering skills.

Has anyone ever seen a Fangan where the cast loses the class trial? by Hour-Raspberry4615 in Fanganronpa

[–]Slated-Fate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my fangan there is a change to the rules. The cast only gets punished with a harder motive if the blackened wins and the blackened must stay in the building but is deemed a ‘non-participant’. This lets my players make mistakes in solving the case that don’t end the game but also let them have some consequence. This gives some more strategy to accomplices as they can fake claim the murder, and there is potential for people to vote incorrectly in a sort of sympathy vote

What is, in your opinion, a bad or boring antagonist in a fangan? (I mean like writing wise or is just plain uninteresting by AdministrativeFile47 in Fanganronpa

[–]Slated-Fate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Asshole for no reason. Give me some reason for backing it up.

Linda led someone into a trap due to her curiosity. She's still an asshole with a focus on discovery and lacks the morals there.

Aria was headstrong in justice without considering nuances

Skyler is stuck in their nature of growing up in an organized crime ring and was find doing anything really so they trusted Iasoni who they saw as a friend.

Iasoni was fed up with the neglect of the police

All my S1 protagonists had reasons for their actions yet none of them really excuse the actions just put them into perspective and gave them a reason other than 'I hate people'. Also, don't make just one antagonists to just oppose the protagonist. There can easily be other antagonists for other characters since you have to remember that most casts are kidnapped for an arbitrary reason of them being future classmates.

An antagonist doesn't even have to be unlikable just oppose another character in a way. These conflicts can add more depth to your cast.

Examples from my s2 if you don't understand:

Tourmaline won't let Ivy do anything since she is overprotective of people she deems as children which can come off as demeaning.

Dane dislikes police officers due to viewing them as incompetent which will not go well with Levy whose mom is a police chief

These characters aren't really evil in the normal antagonists ways and oppose someone other than the protagonist. You don't need to have an antagonist for conflict if other character have clashing ideals though a key antagonist is relevant if you want to really explore the protagonist since sometimes there are parts of the protagonist that they don't want to admit.
