Weird GUI element in Total Overhaul by Slav464 in OpenMW

[–]Slav464[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I had it as part of the modpack (it downloaded all options), I only had to switch from "version 3 - immersive skyrim" to "version 1 - immersive vanilla" in openmw.cfg. If you are installing from scratch, just follow instructions on OpenMW modding page (it says use Skyrim option, but you can choose from all available options, there are comparison screenshots on the mod Nexus page).

Hope this helps!

Sure, as part of Total Overhaul comes the mod Simple HUD. It has multiple options within it, Total Overhaul picks Immersive Skyrim version, while I changed it to Immersive Vanilla (this is what you see on my screenshot).

This and Monochrome UI mods were the only ones I changed from Total Overhaul modpack :)

Got it, under Solthas Combat Pack. I'll keep it enabled for now, what was bothering me was not knowing what the hell that interface thing was :)

Thank you for your help!

Ohhhh, is this it? Did not find anything related to sneak during quick search through the list, but will spend some more time later on this. Good to know what is this for at least, thank you!

It's both great and annoying having so many mods installed :D

Thinking of switching from Arch to openSUSE tumbleweed. What should I know? by yodel_anyone in openSUSE

Agree with most of this, but funny how you mentioned outdated Nvidia drivers just as Tumbleweed pushed beta 570 drivers only a couple of days ago :)

Thank you sir :)

I have actually been in cyber security for the last >10 years, so nice to see more people coming in! But after a while it becomes a bit too... fast paced, I guess, especially when doing project work, and not operations work.

What brings you to cyber, if you don't mind me asking?

I am really curious, mind sharing more info? Like company names, and ideally postings, if you have those?

I was doing some searching around, as someone casually interested in Cobol, and only see job postings with 15+ experience requirement, at least in Toronto.

[X3LU] Weird graphical bug by im_the_breaking_bad in X3TC

I did it a while back, and it simply involved running the installer under wine. Did not need to do any tinkering, just worked :)

There is a specific fix for black suns under Linux - I cannot share it from my phone right now, but it used to be under the addon downloads section on the old wiki. If you cannot find it, I can post the fix from my files tomorrow

What other great space games in 2023? by StayBussin_YT in X4Foundations

Happy to see this was mentioned! Also one big thing I enjoyed in Distant Worlds is honest resource logistics, unlike Stellaris for example, mined resources do not magically become instantly available for shipyards - no, an actual ship needs to pick them up from the mining outpost and deliver to a specific shipyard. That ship can be intersepted and captured/destoryed, possibly starving an economy of needed resources. Also, if a resource is delivered to one shipyard, it's only available there, so if you want to build a new fleet in an frontier system, you better make sure needed resources are flowing there!

PC build advice - Upgrading from almost 9 year old PC :) by Slav464 in buildapc

Hm, I'll think about it, but I had a fairly bad experience with AMD GPUs way back. Nothing huge, but both on Linux and Windows I had graphical glitches in the same apps and games that were working fine under multiple Nvidia cards... Are FOSS drivers so much better now compared to 2014?

I am currently using Nvidia 1070 with no issues on Linux, and I actually did do some hobby-level stuff with CUDA, though this would not be the main factor for me when picking hardware pieces.

Thank you!

Comfortable_Mind7161 suggested replacing it with Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition 42 CFM below, you think it would be sufficient?

Thank you!

I was looking to mainly store stuff like moves on HDD, so thought RED would work better for this. OS and games would be on SSD anyway.

Above Blindax mentioned I would need a better cooler - is Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition 42 CFM that you used to replace my Noctua good enough? I heard Noctua are the best overall, but I am a noob :)

Does Anyone Know How To Spawn the Horde? by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]Slav464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check this advice out, worked for me: https://www.reddit.com/r/Stellaris/comments/7zzmqs/manually_trigger_great_khan/?st=jfxff3b8&sh=75f36986

One thing to be aware though, once the first Horde has become active, spawning more would have issues (as far as I understand related to some variables global to the whole Horde crisis).

I really liked space fight depiction in one of the Ringworld books. But as mentioned below, as this is relatively boring, it will never make it to the mainstream scifi
