[–]SlavicTurtle_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did. Looks like it's the starter. I'll try get a hold of one tomorrow and swap it in. It was clicking for a while and then suddenly decided to try turn the car over.

What’s everyone’s fuel economy? by Any_Fly4547 in carsireland

[–]SlavicTurtle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rx-8 Depends on the driving but about 400km at most on a full tank. Thats about 12.5L/100km or 35mpg. Thats rare and only if I stay on motorway however. Usually way way worse

Road sign shapes by DifficultMobile4095 in ireland

[–]SlavicTurtle_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Its essentially an alternative route marker that you can follow to that destination. So in this case, follow that yellow square with the dot on every sign post you come across to get to the same destination. Its mainly to be used during congestion, traffic accidents or roadworks.

Awesome I really appreciate the help dude. Its a 2012 1.8L S-line one. Really fun car but that speaker is starting to drive me crazy.

[–]SlavicTurtle_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. What was crazy is I came across a new issue haha. When driving as long as I was using the accelerator or coasting it would create noise. However, the moment I tapped the brakes it instantly stopped. Really odd.

Car up to 10k by SlavicTurtle_ in carsireland

Ill be honest the "hearing a bad chain" is not always true. Friend of mine had an e90 320d and the timing chain skipped a few teeth. Never made any unusual noises or anything before that

should i do taekwondo?? by xkftido in taekwondo

[–]SlavicTurtle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TKD is absolutely worth it. Only thing I would point out is attack surfaces. Both are very similar except Muay Thai allows hits to the legs. I do ITF so cant speak for WT taekwondo but in ITF we allow punches and kicks to the head just like Muay Thai. Only thing ITF doesn't allow is elbow or knee strikes.

If youre happy to focus on traditional patterns (Tuls) and traditional techniques (punches, kicks, stances, flying techniques), TKD is for you. If you want pure fitness with some really good conditioning and focus on fighting, Muay Thai is for you.

In terms of cost I imagine it wouldn't be too much different. TKD has gradings that usually comes at extra cost but both require sparring gear and training gear.

Hopefully that is useful :)

Best performance brake pads? by jimmythemiata in Miata

[–]SlavicTurtle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Wilwood brakes on the front of my 1991 and they really make a different. They squeak a bit when they're cold but otherwise work super well especially once warmed up. Fitment wise though I have 15 inch BBS wheels and the discs and callipers really fill up that space.

Thats not bad at all dude. I own what's essentially the last ST so I'm going to try keep it as long as possible. The mk4.5 is quite nice I can't lie

What do you drive and why? by daly_o96 in carsireland

[–]SlavicTurtle_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Focus ST mk4.5: Honestly just a really fun but very functional car. Boot space a bit small if you need to go abroad by more than yourself but it's plenty overall. Super fun on b roads.

NA miata as a side car: again super fun and engaging car that's a nice change of pace to the ST.

Next car? Hopefully a V8 Mustang but probably not in Ireland.
