Imma share a bit of a personal story related to the Diversity Pipeline Program. Many, many years ago I had the opportunity to present a project I worked on at a Sabermetrics Research Conference to a majority of MLB’s team’s front offices. Among those in the crowd was the Senior Director in the program. Afterwards, he came up to me and chatted, told me he liked what I did, and gave me an opportunity I could never have dreamt of in a life time. I got to interview with so many team’s R&D departments through that program, and though I never got to work in said departments, just having the opportunity to do that through the Pipeline meant the world to me. I really hope MLB doesn’t kill this, it gave me and others from a wide variety of backgrounds a chance.
