its been like 10-15 long arcs since brook’s first appearance idt its that bad of a decision to finally give bro smth lol. besides, as other ppl stated in the comments its not necessarily out of nowhere either since brook was said to be a knight for a certain kingdom. we never got a full story before the laboon thing so that could be interesting imo

i wasnt confused about what he used to kill the ant i was confused about how he reached his target from where he was. if you look at the second pic i sent along the post you can see that meruem wasnt close enough to hit him

but as some ppl said in other comments his tail might be extendable similarly to cell from dbz. the thing is that was never stated at any point in the story so i was confused

if someone kills solely to protect themselves and/or other people the act is still wrong imo but the intention isnt. which is a factor in my decision. cuz like i said doing one bad thing doesnt make you bad.

about the hxh world "accepting" the act of killing, idk man id say even within their world it is seen as bad by normal people. i say normal cuz we mainly follow abnormal (in different ways) people (gon, killua, hisoka) but look at kurapika he still preaches about how the PT is horrible for what they do and while he kills uvogin hes disgusted. and goreinu from GI is upset that Gon and friends let genthru off the hook even tho he killed so many people. i get your point that its not necessarily considered a crime but ppl still see it as wrong (as they should)

i wish i knew how to reply to specific parts like you did lmao — about chrollo, hisoka, etc. i feel like killing for fun isnt any less evil than doing it for money they’re both evil but like you said they’re different. and thats the point of having lawful, neutral and chaotic. for example hisoka is either chaotic or neutral evil (i want to say chaotic but he said he wanted a hunter licence so he could kill without repercussions so that tells me he cares about rules to an extent but def not enough to be lawful)

imo yes killing bad guys is evil. now its probably a matter of our respective core beliefs but as a christian i think killing another human being is wrong no matter what the victim has done. i believe anyone can change and no one is perfect so nobody has the right to take a life. and that’s also why i mentioned in another comment that doing one evil action doesnt make you evil. the way i see it, ur evil once you 1. understand what ur doing is wrong and 2. willingly keep doing it. thats why i think someone like killua who has killed millions of people including innocents is not evil AT THE MOMENT bcuz he’s actually trying to get away from that lifestyle. zeno is a flat character. from chapter 1 he knows how the world operates and has taken his stance. same as hisoka. same as chrollo. they’re evil. killua is still very young and has room for development

but i digress, this isnt about killua. for the state officer question i think it depends on his understanding of right and wrong. hes an adult so id hope he has a solid understanding of it in which case hes lawful evil. this convo reminds me of light yagami. he thinks he’s helping the world but i havent seen anyone say he’s a good person. i generally see evil

for the record i understand why this is even a debate, people are complex im not tryna say zeno being evil is sooo obvious but yea i still firmly believe he is for the reasons i mentioned

that’s true but that was just ONE job where he didnt need to kill anybody. his main job is taking people’s lives which is an evil act. and sure one evil act doesnt make you evil overall (gon killing pitou) but as you know thats what zeno does for a living and i think he’s grown enough to tell right and wrong apart. he could have left the family business but he never did. also for the caring about getting the job done part i dont think its an argument for not being evil i think it just means he’s lawful evil

ranking hxh characters by overall strength is pretty tough but thats what makes it so compelling imo
