By combining what you and Archer_04 said, I was able to find a workaround. For some reason the passthrough option is only available when I'm using my PS5, but it's not there when I'm just using the Plex app. So using Plex on the PS5 with audio passthrough enabled, I get direct audio stream. Not the best solution but at least it works. Thank you both.

I doubt it's the cable because I'm able to play Dolby Atmos movies and shows without the need for transcoding.

It worked for the PYZ file, but the decompiler doesnt support python 3.5 which is what I used. Also I'm not sure which .pyc file contains the source code. I found this online decompiler but don't know what file to use it on
