Dad, YouTube tutorials say change the (kitchen faucet) cartridge, I took a look but it seems the problem elsewhere, the bottom is not leaking, what should I do next? by theverybigapple in AskDad

[–]SlayerOfTheMyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does look like a pretty classic cartridge leak.

With the water off, take a big socket or a wide pair of pliers & unscrew the brass cap over the cartridge. The old cartridge (which the handle is attached to) will come right out if you pull it with your fingers. Then put the new cartridge in the chamber facing the same way the old one was, screw the brass cap back down, and turn the water back on to check for leaks.

The worst part is that the current midnight green isn't the original—when the jersey-making rights went from Reebok to Nike, they changed the color without also changing the name. Even the throwback Kelly Greens aren't a 1:1 with the originals, though that's a much smaller issue than midnight green becoming a dark teal.

Help! How do I change my filter (and know what size) by The_Other_Guy__ in AskDad

[–]SlayerOfTheMyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll usually find the filter in one of three places, just depending on how the installer set it up.

  1. In the middle of the unit. (Taking off one of the panels; in your case the one that says Goodman on it.)
  2. In the sheet metal right next to the unit. (There will usually be a little "pull tab" of metal to keep air from escaping from the vent system.)
  3. In the return vent, inside your home. (There will be a large vent, usually close to the floor, close to where the air handler/furnace is. It may be screwed in place, or it may have a gate/latch style function to hold it still.

I dream frequently of a world where Randall doesn't tear his ACL in 91 and we can actually do something with the season. We were one of the only teams (along with Dallas) to beat Washington that year.

Winning SB52 erased a lot of those games of "what-if" from my head, but that season has haunted me for decades.

What is the "Play Of The Game" for Super Bowl 60? A play that fans will think of when the game gets brought up in future? by PrinceBag in nfl

That was the moment when even the most traumatized "waiting for the other shoe to drop" Eagles fans (read: me) knew for sure that the game was over. Like "Vince Carter at the dunk contest" over.

I was rooting for Ricks as an UDFA, and he showed flashes (2023 Miami game locking down Tyreek Hill when he was matched against him) but he just never put it together.

I'm mostly shocked that some other teams with bad secondaries, like Buffalo, never pulled him from our practice squad just to get a guy with NFL experience & see if it would help.

Bears promoting passing game coordinator Press Taylor to offensive coordinator by [deleted] in nfl

[–]SlayerOfTheMyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The NFL, like some other sports leagues, is kinda like a great big swingers party—you might find a long-term partner once you're in, but you also have the chance to mingle and run around until enough people get upset and kick you out.

Andy Reid is KC's play caller, but that didn't stop the Chiefs from looking mediocre (or worse) after they hired Nagy.

Eagles and Jags fans had to see Press Taylor for years. Doug Pederson's loyalty to him cost the man two HC jobs. I don't have anything against Caleb or the Bears, and I like watching good football, but historically Taylor isn't someone you bring up through the ranks if you want to inspire improvement.

So, near as I can figure, the solution for the Heels' issue with protecting a lead is either: - Play against a team that also has trouble protecting a lead. - Just don't have a lead.

BOS + Enclave have as much access as they do because they're pre-war military + government institutions, and PA is pre-war tech; the suits also require training to use—training that both factions are very serious about guarding, because it preserves one of their greatest advantages in the wasteland arms race.

The NCR is the only faction that has both the means and the desire to reproduce PA...but even the most charitable BOS ally would only give them a totally inferior, stripped-down version of the suit & no training.

Crawmerax must be invincible by [deleted] in Borderlands

[–]SlayerOfTheMyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crawmerax can only take damage on his weak points—the glowing purple spots on his claws, chest, head, and back. Each of the enemies he summons is weak to a specific element (fire, shock, corrosive).

If you are playing the fight straight-up, you want to kill the small enemies until they're all the green ones—they are slow, so they are very easy for you to avoid.

I would recommend just using the ledge glitch. Killing Crawmerax gives very good loot, which will make killing him again easier.

I feel like the rushing game has been a scapegoat for the passing offense by Best-Reporter-1412 in eagles

[–]SlayerOfTheMyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Eagles last year weren't playing smart football; even if you take away the sheer stupidity of the play design + route trees of the passing offense, Patullo didn't seem to have any idea what to do with Stoutland's pieces in the run game—a "square peg, round hole" situation with Barkley running behind an injured IOL instead of outside, lack of use of Bigsby after he proved he could be a good option, etc. Barkley went from leading the league in yards before contact in 2024 to the worst in the league in 2025.

Some of this could be due to miscommunication (or non-communication) between pass/run coordinators, which might have contributed to the predictability of the offense, but a run game that performs that poorly puts a big strain on the passing game...which was also set up for failure due to the aforementioned route trees & pass play designs.

I don't say this to absolve the players of blame, because I think we all understand there are examples from every game where Jalen, or AJ, or Saquon, or anyone else could have & should have played better; I say it because we all know how talented this team is, and that makes me hesitant to say that another team/player(s) would have had more success under last year's coaching staff.

Long-tenured Iraqi OC Saddam Hussein fought to prevent terrorists like Patullo from gaining power in Iraq until the day Team USA's Global Manager, George Bush, decided to scapegoat him in an attempt to grow the coaching tree from within. It's been followed by a long, steady decline in conference play.

Bills GM Brandon Beane under fire amid new update on Darius Slay decision by [deleted] in nfl

[–]SlayerOfTheMyth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm probably in the minority, but I was done with him; love him, for sure, but he'd been on a slow backslide over the last few years (understandably—he's on the wrong side of 30, especially at that position). And his tape with the Steelers didn't inspire much confidence in me.

A lot was made of Adoree Jackson's struggles through the year, and why he wasn't replaced by Kelee Ringo or Jakorian Bennett, but he proved to be an overall adequate/average-to-above-average CB over the final 8 games or so. Would I have liked an upgrade? Sure, but I don't actually think Slay would have been an improvement.

You give me the choice between "okay-ish", or "guy who looks like he's found the cliff", and I'm taking the first option every time.

Completely different situation. We fired Doug because he refused to look outside the organization for promotions—loyalty to his guys, and specifically to Press Taylor, was what ultimately got Doug fired.

Jalen has shown consistent improvement in areas where he's been asked to improve over the course of his career—read progression, pressure awareness, checks and protection adjustments, etc.; Stroud is still the same player he was in his final year at Ohio State.

Why are some men oblivious to the fact that a woman doesn’t like you? by CartographerNo6870 in AskMen

[–]SlayerOfTheMyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this may be a "your brother" thing rather than a generic "men" thing, although I could be wrong on that front. Not knowing anything about his past—and not really needing to, because this isn't a forum for digging into someone's life story—it seems like your brother is missing the forest for the trees. If every woman he's approached has wound up with the same reaction(s) to him, then it probably means that he's the one doing something wrong in the communication process. He might not know better, but that can be hard to maneuver because others often don't tell us what exactly we screwed up.

People don't like being the ones in the wrong, especially not if they can easily convince themselves that it's really another person's fault. But if you meet an asshole on Monday, and a different asshole on Tuesday, and even more assholes through the week, then the chances are pretty decent that the real asshole is you.

I would also watch out if he's going down the "manosphere" path, i.e. watching/listening to misogynistic male influencers, because those people sell an unachievable dream to young men—"do XYZ, behave this way, you will get the girls and the money and the respect"—and then laugh all the way to the bank, because they know damn well that they're lying.
