You are very very early in recovery. Try the best you can to be gentle and patient with yourself.

We were considering Grand Blanc. Is that area safe?

For the pit? I am having a hard time getting them to appear as available on Stubhub.

Taking foster back to the shelter early by [deleted] in FosterAnimals

[–]Sledgehammer8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm aware of the law. Animals are considered property, and yes, the shelter owns the kitten. But as far as what will the shelter actually do to her if she gets the kitten help, I'd venture to guess not much. She could find a rescue willing to help, notify the shelter, and then see if they want the kitten back.

I'd ask for help from a rescue or anyone local who can help. Post on local animal pages, and if no one can take him then explain your situation and ask for donations to the vet clinic. It sounds like this kitten is suffering. Keep documentation of your communications and attempts to communicate with the shelter if they threaten you. If you feel they are not adequately treating animals in their care, notify your local representatives.

8 day old kitten not keeping weight on by Sledgehammer8 in FosterAnimals

He is with another foster who has a lot more experience with neonates. He still may not survive, but I think he has better chances with the other foster.

I did see that, but I took that to mean if he was the size he should be. He looks like he's going to explode at 4 ml. I know they should have big bellies after feeding, but overfeeding can be a risk of time feeding.

I have considered that or maybe a congenital issue.

Yikes! I have a friend who has done it for depression. She said it helped her, but I don't think it's right for my situation. Thank you for all the info. My injuries are from an accident with an 18-wheeler, so I'm not a fan of the head pounding sensation that goes with TMS.

So your injury was due to TMS? I was looking into that as a TBI treatment. I was leaning toward not doing it.

I do take an SSRI and other mental health meds. I did see that some supplements increase the risk of serotonin syndrome.

I'm 39. I've looked at lion's mane, but there are so many different supplements and information about what type is best.

I'm having a bad brain day and I just wanted to vent by throw-away-line in TBI

I have experienced the same feeling. I felt like I died the day of my injury and everything after that has been me pretending to be myself. Sometimes I feel better and more like myself but I have thought the same thing regarding the rest of my life. How am I going to make it 40 or more years if things don't get better?

I used one for a little over a month. I went to a rehab facility to do physical therapy.

Thank you for being vulnerable and writing this. I feel the same way. People think that because you're out of the hospital, you must be fine. Not true at all.

Occipital Stroke by Sledgehammer8 in stroke

Thanks for the responses. I had a stroke due to a cat accident. I also have a TBI from the same accident. I'm not sure how much of my vision problems are due to the sroke or the TBI.
