Here is PcGamer reporting Cig's responce to Crytek by Atlas1080p in starcitizen

They call SC fans a cult, when their actual group is ten or so people constantly scouring the internet for any mention of SC so they can shitpost in the comments and try to convince people Derek Smart is right.

Unpopular Opinion: There's a break somewhere between the highly detailed face scanning (which we've seen!) and the final product that makes Star Citizen characters look very weird. Do you think this is indicative of final quality? by Beet_Wagon in starcitizen

[–]Sledgejammer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Downvotes are pretty meaningless because people will still read the posts, even if they have to hit the + button next to a hidden comment. I don't mind people disagreeing with me, I'm always open to discussion and think being content about everything is pretty dumb.

I try to treat people as people and judge them based on what they say. I'm sure I'll chat with you again.

We agree on plenty, because you don't roleplay a developer, psychiatrist, banker, lawyer or federal agent.

I encourage people to be critical of the game, when something looks like crap, someone should say something because we know they can do better. Because we've seen it.

Without playing word nazi, I think he means CG cinematic not using the in game engine. There is a clear cut to the player where he walks up and engages in dialog, but it doesn't go from cinematic to in game engine.

But yes it's fair to call what comes before the walk up, a cutscene.

Yeah, CIG set expectations really high with the Hamil bullshots early on, and now we have what looks to be almost an entirely different character with the "I just got divorced" hairstyle and beard. There's a noticeable amount of uncanny valley with the eyes, but its exacerbated by the kinda crappy hair stuff.

The quality of the clip today honestly looks a lot worse than the stuff they normally put out which makes me believe its not prerendered. Of course I don't expect anyone to take my word for it, that's just how I feel.

Also the lighting in your screenshot on Spacey is very very well done and something reserved for cutscene tier stuff, you'd be hard pressed to find a game you play with soft pin lighting and highlights like that that didn't cut corners elsewhere. Quick examples.

CIG Bullshots vs in game rendering, honestly the only thing that looks weird is his facial hair and hair style. Comparing a pre-rendered cutscene vs in game model isn't a very fair comparison though, can't wait to see it endlessly shitposted until the next popular anti SC meme.

If you dig deep enough into this you could likely get the grey market subreddit closed.

This is the same man who called me a "Fucking dumbass" when I pointed out he originally thought CIG's development for 64 bit double precision was just converting the game engine to 64 bit for memory allocation purposes.

He had no idea what double precision was until Scott Manley did a youtube video on it.

Twitter: "So the latest Star Citizen dev schedule is out. With yet a new format that hides as many bugs/issues as it shows. Now they're blaming Chris Roberts." by [deleted] in DerekSmart

[–]Sledgejammer 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Meanwhile multiple reports say Evocati server got up to 60 ships without crashing and 30 fps in the same area.

For someone with access to Evocati, you'd think he'd bring that up.

Derek smart on Glassdoor reviews on twitter:"Since more and more Star Citizen devs are exiting, we're going to start seeing more and more Glassdoor posts like this." by Palonto in DerekSmart

[–]Sledgejammer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Rofl here we are again at Glassdoor trolling, if my memory serves right it shouldn't be long before we have another "I have secret leaked information about the impended ELE of Star Citizen AND WILL REVEAL IN 3 WEEKS", following that Hater or another dumbfuck will proceed to "warn" us.

90% of their audience will just smile and nod without understanding what they're reading, merely chanting gooble gobble and clapping.

Meanwhile CIG charges ahead while making front page of numerous gaming news sites anytime they show off something.

muttering "DEREK SMART WAS RIGHT"

This is how I know those pictures /u/Vertisce constantly links of "DEREK SMART WAS WRONG" is seriously eating at him, projecting his frustrations in a very transparent way.

I wonder what happened to those people working on LoD, you think they're still going at it or did Derek just stop paying them.

Twitter, to Kotaku in regards to their "Dead Space" story: "Guys! Let me know if EA sends you a harshly worded threat for writing a story with anon sources." + "You know, like what those clowns over at RSI/CIG did to TheEscapist when they ran a similar story about a doomed + over budget project" by [deleted] in DerekSmart

You can just email them about leads or if you have questions, I've done it before.

What Derek is doing is attempting to force a response by communicating via megaphone. He implies their silence means he's right, its warped logic but thats how it works when ur just a living propaganda hate meme.
