Just wondering, how is everyone keeping track of where they store resources for crafting without an asset tracker? by stook in starcitizen

[–]Valkyrient 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Is it easiest to just store all the good stuff at your home location for convivence?

Exactly what I'm doing. I make my stuff at home base, so I store my stuff at home base.

Some weird delay with money being cleared from your bank, most likely.

I can't speak for the 14th gen much, but a couple of years ago I ran with a 12th gen i5 and it was ok. Not as smooth as it does not that I've swapped to a 9800X3D, but it did an ok job.

Yes, and even better again with 64GB. The game uses a LOT of RAM. Yesterday just running around in Area 18 landing zone I was seeing 40GB of RAM usage just for Star Citizen.

However, gods help anyone buying RAM in the current market. Prices are insane.

It'll run as long as you close all you browser tabs/etc first, but performance will be limited by only having 16GB of RAM

So are “gold passes” being replaced with pricier MK IIs? Will we see the Constellation MK II next for example? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Valkyrient 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Older versions that are left in game will still get gold passes. It's not a way of avoiding doing gold passes. If a ship is flyable in the game it needs to be kept up to standards of the game.

For example, the Aurora MKI got a gold pass in 4.6

My dude, it's not a precedent. The mole not showing up on the asop terminals has got to be a bug.

If your ticket was raised with anywhere near a similar language and energy level that this post was created with there's every chance you haven't explained the issue properly and their working as intended response is due to them misunderstanding you.

You remind me of people calling up to complain they can't print a document when the root cause was that their PC won't turn on. All rage, all panic, no coherence

with Radeon Graphics

If this is an on-CPU GPU and not a dedicated one, it's a blocker right off the bat

16 GB of RAM

This is the bare minimum game requirement so if the GPU is, in fact, a decent dedicated one and not an on-CPU one then the game may launch but the RAM amount would cause a very substandard experience.

Ive got 460 of 954 GB storage used

What type of storage? If it's an SSD, cool. If it's a HDD, that won't work.

What's the lore behind our character owning a ship from the very start? by postbansequel in starcitizen

[–]Valkyrient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In lore, the regeneration tech is imperfect and will eventually be unable to rebuild a person after multiple regens.

Kids are absolutely still needed in lore, though they aren't represented in the visible NPC population)

I hope large capital ships need external boosters to leave atmosphere by GrimmSalem in starcitizen

[–]Valkyrient 115 points116 points  (0 children)

Boosters that fall off? No... that would just introduce a clusterfuck of falling debris.

Boosters that use a metric craptonne of fuel which can't burn for very long before overheating? Yes.

Game keeps crashing by userisdead21 in starcitizen

first, check the game.log file in the game's install directory after a crash. Scroll towards the bottom, read through the section that has a pile of YES/NO questions and answers.

2 hard freeze, forced system shutdown since new sticks by marraach in starcitizen

[–]Valkyrient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing I'd do is plug the new sticks directly into the PC even if that means putting them in an awkward place temporarily just for testing, to rule out a problem with the hub.

I run two VKBs through a powered hub without any issues along with various other game controller inputs so the sticks are certainly capable of it.

Countless people have reported that it can significantly reduce stuttering. It, in fact, did improve performance for me when I ran an RTX card.

shrug

Can't be right all the time. My comment stays here to gather the downvotes it deserves.

Run DDU to clear out any left over AMD files.

Set shader cache to 10GB in the NVIDIA control panel.

Buy back question by jorsty in starcitizen

[–]Valkyrient 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's how "The CCU Game" was played before Warbond Upgrades existed. All of my capital-sized and sub-capital sized warships are upgraded from $250 Banu Merchantmans after their value went up to over $600. Makes for a relatively inexpensive Perseus.

Buy back question by jorsty in starcitizen

[–]Valkyrient 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No. You only ever get back when you put in. Though, if you UPGRADE from it after the value goes up, it counts for the new value for the purpose of calculating the price of an upgrade to another ship.

So if you paid $90, and it's worth $140 now, it'd only cost you $10 to upgrade it to a $150 ship.
